Great Picture and Easy Setup for the Price
I bought the FPD 43 inch Smart TV and was impressed right out of the box. The setup took only a few minutes. The menus are simple, Google TV runs smoothly, and connecting my apps was easy. Having Chromecast built in is a nice bonus because I can stream from my phone without any extra steps. The picture quality is surprisingly good for the price. The colors look sharp, the brightness is solid, and the overall clarity is exactly what I wanted for a Full HD screen. The sound is decent as well and works fine for normal shows and movies. For what this TV costs, it delivers a lot. Easy setup, clean picture, and all the smart features I need. Hard to beat for the value.

Loss of Internet is Routine, while TV and HULU app less than compatible
I bought the supposedly 4k/UHD unit. The box is correct, as it shows it as a CANVAS model which is the 4k/UHD. But nothing noteworthy about the Picture Settings, sadly, and after experimentation I left the setting on its default. Perhaps I haven't tuned into any 4k broadcasts to tell the difference! The seller wasn't the manufacturer and couldn't help on this, though they got pics of the label attached to the back of the TV as I was requesting confirmation the correct version of this TV was in the box I received. The Seller gave up on this, but said that Fulfillment was Amazon's responsibility - though I don't know how Amazon would know what precisely was in that box. The advanced Settings are very difficult to work with, esp since you have to use a GOOGLE password and a PIN code. Did I ever have a pin code for GOOGLE? Not that I know of. But you can set a new PIN, if you can figure out the weird box and 4-level situation which doesn't reveal the number(s) you are selecting. It took a lot of back and forth before I conquered that puzzle, which is literally a puzzle. Without access, I cannot use the GOOGLE ASSISTANT (VOICE) feature. (And you want to be able to select which apps GOOGLE ASSISTANT works with.) In the end, even with the puzzled mastered, I still have no Google Assistant. A shame as that is voice commands. I frequently have NO INTERNET CONNECTION appearing on the corner of my screen. Usually this message means nothing as the show continues to play, but occasionally this coincides with throwing me out of the app and I have to re-enter the app to get back to my program. The No Internet Connection which doesn't affect my viewing also ends up doing a WIFI CONNECTED notification as a follow-up. This back-and-forth is not going on with my other TVs. Is it the app - normally, HULU - or the TV that is the problem? They say if it is not in the room with the router that there can be a problem, but my other TVs in other rooms do not have this issue. (Methinks SMART is not too smart.) If I had to do over again, I wouldn't buy this one. TVs should not be frustrating or take so long to get it right. And it's still not right after many hours of work setting this up. The TV seems stable enough on its metal legs, but I recommend a mat that increases the TVs security in case you're worried it'll slide off a table. It is a light-weight TV. I got a spongy mash type mash under the TV and it has made it much more secure. UPDATE: Have had so many issues with HULU vs Google Smart TV and some 'net research says I'm not alone. GOOGLE SMART TV and HULU are in technical battle mode, so everything but HULU is working fine but HULU becomes the streamer you have to RESTART because there is No Connection etc. Just opening HULU can require an extra step or two and that is on a default basis. Living with the daily settings issue is one thing, but what finally occurred is a NO INTERNET CONNECTION for the TV at all, though the strength of my WIFI INTERNET is Good or Excellent and there is no problem with any other device in the household, including the other TVs. So this is beyond the HULU issue but about the TV itself. No matter how many resets to re-establish the connection it says INTERNET SUCCESSFUL but has No Internet Connection. What is a TV that doesn't function by choice? A piece of ----!

A bit slow, but it's a great guest room TV
This 43" Google Smart TV is perfect for our guest room. I've got it set up on a portable floor stand. It uses wifi, which streams my subscription movies and TV. Setup was very easy. There aren't many options on the back, but just enough. I've got one HDMI port used for my Apple TV, even though Apple TV is an app option on this TV's free apps. I'm using an VPN on the Apple TV device, but watching whatever on the TV's provided apps. Super easy to switch back and forth. I am happy with the app choices, it's more than I get on the Samsung. I'm listening to Pandora on the TV's app. I have it set on the Music sound setting, and even so, the sound is a little more tinny than I like. I have adjusted the base and treble a lot, and it is still sort of canned. I plan to install a different speaker option, but have not done so yet. The picture is good. Not as good as my Samsung OLED downstairs, but TBH, this TV is easier to use, and the Samsung is finicky. This TV seems to have a bit of a relay when I press a button on the remote. Just a split second, but it is noticeable and I'm not sure if it's my wifi or the TV, but since the remote is IR, I assume that the TV just has to take a second to think about things. It isn't a deal breaker for a 2nd or 3rd TV, but if it's your only TV and you expect a lot, you might not appreciate the simplicity of this TV. I appreciate that it is about 20% of the cost of my downstairs TV. I can live with this.
