After loving the look of the Tripp trapp high chair and impressed with the reviews for it but being less impressed by the price, I decided to really look at other similar chairs that were more affordable and decided on the Huack alpha+ and I have zero negatives to say about it so far! Not only is it aesthetically pleasing, but like the Tripp trapp, I love that you can buy the additional tray and newborn seat if needed. We bought this for our baby at 6 months, so the newborn seat wasn’t required, though I did buy the additional tray which I highly recommend to others. The tray is quite structured and has a bar that goes between the baby’s legs, which really helped my little boy from slipping down as he is quite petite (<9th centile) and looks tiny compared to most conventional high chairs. But even when the high chair and tray has been used by my much bigger 18 month old nephew (99th centile), I would say getting the additional tray is still worth it as you can remove the tray for easy cleaning and the baby won’t have smeared food over your dining room table, especially if you’re following baby led weaning. The chair itself is excellent quality and very sturdy but doesn’t take up too much room and due to its design can be pushed in under the table (if not using the tray attachment.) My husband was able to assemble it easily enough, though did find that to fit the tray attachment he had to partly dissemble the chair to fit the tray attachment and then rebuild it, however this wasn’t too much trouble and didn’t take too long. As no tiny nooks or crannies like in conventional high chairs, it’s very easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth after use. Also lots of wipeable cushions that fit the Hauck alpha available on Amazon/other online retailers if you want your child to have some padding to make them more comfortable whilst in the chair. Overall I love the chair and this has been one of my favourite baby purchases! Can’t be beaten for the price.

We have currently been using it with the baby seat add on (used from the bouncer) . It has been fantastic to use it with our 7 day old baby whilst we eat our dinner. It felt like some normality to sit and eat at the table during this very surreal and life changing time!! It is sturdy. Was easy to build and easy to switch between different seat styles. And the value for miney is brilliant as I was looking at a much more expensive brand of this style originally.

I have a larger than average 1yr old who is really very strong and found out that in his previous high chair he could bounce it across the kitchen. With this being less than ideal and us having to tether him to the kitchen table, we decided to upgrade to a more suitable, heavier designed highchair that can grow with him. The design of this chair is solid as a rock, it can be adjusted as needed with the change of a few screws etc. The assembly is easy enough, but can be fairly fiddly balancing heavy wooden pieces and trying to thread screws so would recommend a second pair of hands. I personally love that he feels super secure in this, the straps as so easy to take off and wash and the chair is easy to wipe clean for the next use. It goes well in the kitchen and tucks beautifully under the table when not in use. I have also perched on this occasionally when gathered round the table and it takes my weight (60kg) and feels very sturdy so I have faith that this will last for many years to come. A little more on the expensive side, however I would undoubtedly buy this again in the future if ever I needed it and I wished I had bought this in the beginning, as the cheap option I initially chose was most definitely not the best one as it did not last us more than 6 months.

UPDATE: I have used the chair for a few months now. I was very disappointed by the paint chipping in the first few weeks but thought maybe we accidentally knocked it as it was the bottom by the feet. Fast forward a few months and the paint is chipped everywhere over the high chair and we are not heavy handed with it at all. Very disappointed in the poor finish. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I spent some time debating between this one and it’s super expensive alternative. Although I can’t compare them, I am extremely happy with this product. My 14 month old sits very comfortably in it. It slide up to the table perfectly and he gets to feel like he is eating with us. It’s very sturdy. Easy to assemble and very quick.

The product is easy enough to put together. Is neat and attractive and comfortable for babies and toddlers. Using one for a baby and one for a toddler. The toddler is comfortable and seat is great for having toddler at table with whole family, however the safety bar is not moveable once seat assembled and it can be hard getting the toddler in and out of the seat (not 2.5 years yet). The baby is comfortable (use it with the add-on tray and baby bar) and it's a good fit. However the five point harness cannot be used with the baby tray add-on but is still required for small babies. All in all it's a decent product but has some definite design flaws The quality of the product is fine, not great. Had to send a seat back as it arrived with faults in the legs and the metal bar.

Nearly 18 months on and it is going strong. I have the plastic tray so haven’t experienced any issues with the wood. Toddlers eats, draws, watches tv, reads on it. I love that it allowed us to have her sitting at the dining table from a young age helping her social skills. Love it.

I have two of these high chairs now, one for my 3-year-old and one for my 8-month-old and I absolutely love it! Especially now that I was able to get the tray insert for my youngest. I found it to be very easy to assemble as long as you have a little bit of common sense. I also find it to be very sturdy. The height and color are perfect for our table and I love that it grows with them. Shoulder straps are the only thing I've ever had trouble with, but honestly I just wrap the straps around his waist and that was enough to keep him in if need be. Included photos of the seat in 3 different stages. Love it!! Highly recommend.

Det är överlag en väldigt bra och stabil stol. Dock är selen sådär. Svår att få på och svårt att få den att sitta riktigt bra och bekvämt. Men kommer säkert bli toppen när vi kan ta bort den.

My daughter has one and it is so nice, I bought one for my house. Looks so nice at my table. My granddaughter is almost 2 and she has been using one of these at home since she could sit up. Definitely functional as they grow.
