3 Pack Fire Alarms Smoke Detector Battery Operated with Photoelectric Sensor and Silence Button, Travel Portable Smoke Alarms

I'm amending my previous review from one star to four stars. Although I had difficulty attaching the smoke detector to the base, when the base was screwed into the ceiling, I eventually mounted it successfully with double sided tape. It appears to work fine, and is an attractive little smoke detector. The seller was very responsive to my complaint about the unit, and offered a replacement or refund.One thing to note about these detectors, unfortunately, if you live in Massachusetts and are trying to get the smoke detector certificate required to sell your home in this state, these detectors do not qualify for the certificate. Although they are photoelectric, they are not UL-rated with a 10-year sealed lithium battery, which is the standard required in Massachusetts to obtain the certificate of compliance. Although these are cute and visually unobtrusive little units, and may do their job fine, I can't use them for my purpose which is to comply with the regulations to sell my home here.

I ordered these fire alarms when we had our house inspected to become foster parents. The alarms looked real with a blinking green light and they would beep when you pushed the test button. Our home passed inspection and we rested calmly believing we would be notified if their was a fire.A few months later we had a small kitchen fire from a cooking mishap. None of these alarms went off; one was installed in the kitchen and a 2nd in the living room right outside the kitchen. Fortunately, I was in the kitchen at the time and another alarm from a different company went off despite being located in another floor of the house and on the other side of a closed door.This product might have cost us our lives if things had played out differently. Please don't make the same mistake.Amazon has a major problem with counterfeit products! I will never buy anything this important from them again. I threw away all 3 alarms and replaced them with Kiddie combination fire and carbon monoxide detectors that I bought from Walmart in person the next day.Don't risk your safety!! These where exactly what I needed, and much smaller than expected. They are also 1/3 the price of the competitors. One got tested within a few days of installation when our stove had a run away temperature. Filled the first floor with smoke. These are so small I hung them with double sided tape. Only downside is that they are not as loud as a normal detector.

In my application, when I used the screws to mount to the ceiling, there wasn't quite enough room for the smoke detector to lock into place. Easy solution was Command Strips (basically double-sided tape). Voila! Stuck it to the ceiling and was done. When I bought the second one, I didn't even bother with the screws. 'Took less than 30 seconds to mount.I do wish it was just a little louder, but it serves my purposes fine. Tiny, unobtrusive, great. Will buy more soon.

At first it looks like a toy but its size makes it easy to install anywhere. I would recommend.

We bought a three pack and immediately installed them. Several time we expected them to go off when the kitchen got smoky from cooking or the grill had a flair-up and the smoke pulled in through the house. After they never when off, my some decided to try the test button again. It worked fine. So he removed the closest one and took it out and held it over a heavily smoking grill. IT DID NOT GO OFF! Do not trust your life with these devices!!!

My wife hates the huge traditional smoke detectors and I found these. Very easy to use and come with all mounting hardware. Test button is easily reached. Very unobtrusive on walls and ceilings.

Three for the price of one! I've always thought simple smoke detectors have been way overpriced. These should do the job just fine for a reasonable cost, you hopefully never know. But they test fine and install like most others. I can't speak to the battery life since I just installed them but the batteries were included so that's a plus.
