Scenes From Childhood (Kinderszenen) Op.15 Pf: Schirmer Library of Classics Volume 101 Piano Solo

What a charming collection. The more I play it the more I come to love the pieces. Not necessarily easy but once mastered they simply uplift my souls. RS must have been a wonderfully gentle and kind person.

Very enjoyable pieces that are relatively easy to play. Note that the music in "Scences from Childhood" are about childhood itself rather than music written for children to play. The music reminds me of some of Greig's Lyric pieces with a similar degree (or lack of) difficulty.

The music was just as wanted for which I would give 5 stars, but the courier did not leave with receptionist or at the lobby as was said but dumped my parcel along with another on the floor halfway up the stairs. Luckily, I happened to go down that way and was able to retrieve both and deliver the 2nd one to my neighbour who had been waiting in for the parcel. This is not good enough as both could well have gone astray in a building containing 68 flats.

I love it for the same reason I love the Mozart Sonatas. Schirmer always does a great job. The notations are clear, etc.Delivery was prompt.

This music is so lovely. I am thrilled to have my daughter learning to play these gentle, soothing pieces. They would be beautiful for evening time and readying children for slumber.Mr. Schumann may not be as well known as some other romantic composers, but it is not because his music is lacking! Don't omit this beautiful collection from your music study!
