We really like this GE 1050w Microwave Oven. We choose it because it have a comprhensive set of cooking features and and seemed to offer substantial value at that price point. It's a nice compact size but quite powerful, easy to use control panel and the Air Fry function was an extra benefit and works well too. Our last Japanese brand microwave oven last almost 20 years so hopefully the product reliability will be there for the GE one. I would have like to have a more detailed user manual included with the product. We've only been a it for a little over a month and I plan to provide a more detailed review in the future.

Admit, I bought this oven primarily for its size, but am finding its versatility impressive. The, “combi,” mode, in particular, makes for the best mixed vegetable dishes. I cook raw, cut up, seasoned and olive oil spritzed root veggies for twelve minutes, then add frozen vegetables to the same glass roasting pan, spritz once more, toss and cook for another twelve to fourteen minutes and they’re delicious. The air fry mode works well, too. The oven is quiet, and the lights are not annoyingly bright. Am finding the buttons easy to read even for my older eyes (I don’t cook in the dark) and the hot oven warning beep stops immediately upon pushing the, “cancel/off,” button. Looks nice on the counter, too. Overall, consider it a fabulous value and a fine replacement for my microwave. Am thoroughly enjoying this new oven.

This is a very complicated device and there is no manual included in the box when you buy it. The one-page Quick Guide says you can call GE and have a manual sent to you, but when I called (4/3/2025) the robot said that GE no longer sends printed manuals. You HAVE to use their website and print the PDF manual yourself if you want hardcopy (you know, to have in the kitchen where your machine is). The online PDF manual does not have enough information. It doesn't tell you how to turn on or off the alert beeps or adjust the volume. It also refers to functions using different terms depending on which page you are on, which makes it very difficult to understand. The PDF manual mentions a Reheat function on page 7, and the machine has a button for it, but the manual never explains what it does or how it is different from the cook function or when/why I'd use the Reheat function. (Because engineers and customers like buttons????) On pages 8 & 9, it lists the "Available Cooking Options" - microwave, air-fry, combination, broiling - but fails to include any information about the Convection Cooking option. On page 14, the PDF manual does describe "Convection Cooking", but the text is the exact same, word-for-word, as the description for "Combination Cooking", which is using the microwave and the convection feature at the same time. So I still have no idea when, or for what, I should use the Convection Cooking feature. When I called Customer Service with questions and finally talked to a human (after 20 minutes of a robot telling me to use the website), the customer service people were unsympathetic and unhelpful, and referred me back to their useless website. The volume of the beeping is very loud and the tone is high pitched and piercing. It also beeps whenever you do anything! Open the door - BEEEEP! Close the door - BEEEEP! Chose a function - BEEEEP! - BEEEEP! Set the time - BEEEEP! - BEEEEP! Start the function - BEEEEP! - BEEEEP! It gets to temperature - BEEEEP! - BEEEEP! - BEEEEP! - BEEEEP! (Pressing CANCEL/OFF does not stop the beeping.) It finishes cooking - BEEEEP! - BEEEEP! - BEEEEP! - BEEEEP! You open the door - BEEEEP! - BEEEEP! It's hot - BEEEEP! - BEEEEP! - BEEEEP! - BEEEEP! - BEEEEP! - BEEEEP! - BEEEEP! - BEEEEP! (Pressing CANCEL/OFF does not stop the beeping.) It's cooled down - BEEEEP!

Overall we like it. Pros-Has many functions and is flexible for our small household. The door is durable. Cons- it is LOUD. No way that we see to adjust the loud beeps. Also very very small and hard to see function buttons on the key pad. This is our biggest complaint. They do not light up and are not large enough for us to see well. We had to make labels ourselves to be able to use the functions.

Built almost as good as my original Amana Radarange from 40 years ago. It has a real all stainless steel INTERIOR, not just trim on the outside front. Very roomy. Really fast and powerful. Fairly quiet. Incredibly versatile range of controls and functions take a little while to learn. Definitely download the full manual. The unit doesn't come with enough instructions. They really should give you the full printed manual. Comes with 2 accessory racks and a pan for air frying. Has a broiler and convection oven. When using the convection oven, the outside remains surprisingly cool. In fact, the convection oven and air fryer really doesn't heat the kitchen. It uses a fraction of the energy of my electric oven. It's big enough for almost anything but big cookie sheets or a turkey. Plates and half gallon Pyrex measuring cups fit with room to spare. I have a really small kitchen, so the fact that the air fryer, convection oven, toaster/broiler and microwave take up just the space of a microwave is a game changer. The only thing(s) that makes it less than the absolute perfect product is that only the time display lights up. (and no full printed manual.) At night, it's impossible to see where to press for various functions. Perhaps the best purchase I ever made on Amazon.
