Talking Tables do lots of great games like this, and this is another one. I love that it's all contained within an envelope and the 1920's theme too. It's a decent 'murder mystery', not too tricky, not too hard and there is some replay to it too.It does require a minimum of 5 players and not engaging enough for younger people, teenagers should be fine. Plus getting in to the theme of the game, i.e. The 1920's really adds to it all.Overall lots of fun.

I ordered this Murder Mystery at the Botanic gardens game, from the Party brand Talking Tables. Talking Tables have a good reputation and I was happy to be able to try out this latest offering from them. Everything you need is contained a one large envelope and I actually threw in in my wheelie case on a whim as we went off to spend a night away with some friends. We ended up with eight players, some of whom were young, but well versed in the murder mystery genre through copious episodes of Father Dowling Investigates as well as the Phoenix Wright Ace detective game. Everyone got into the swing of things, however it was hard to keep the attntion of some, toward the end as it takes a long time to play. I certainly enjoyed it, it is like acting out an Agatha Christie with your friends. The props included are 1920s themed and made of paper. There were decent instructions amd I think everyone got the hand of how to play fairly easily. We did have one 10 year old who had a bad dream afterwards. But that was our fault as they were probably too young and not the target age range in the first place.I did enjoy it, but it is quite tricky to set aside 2-3 hours for one type of entertainment as we don't get the chance to get together too often.Still though, fun was had. Four stars

Such a fun game! This has everything you need to host your own mystery party! The quality is great and it has some really interesting clues and aspects to it! We had such a fun evening and you can definitely make it more over the top or play it down, whatever the preference and theatricality of your group

Good fun for a girls night inIts well thought out and functions well but we did find it a tad bit easy meaning it was done and dusted within a hour but we did have a blast.Good value but could be harder

You need at least five players for this game, which is a little frustrating as four would be a lot easier to host/organise.Th components are pretty basic, but do the job. I like the 1920s aesthetic. We enjoyed the "mystery", although it definitely took us longer than the 2-3 hours recommended.Overll I enjoyed this, but i'm not sure i'd do it again with a new mystery.

Despite it's rather humble packaging and appearance, this little pack houses a compelling whodunnit which is excellent fun to play, especially if you can get people into the whole roleplay!We had an opportunity to play as five - all family with 3 generations as the cast. Set-up and explaining the game is pretty simple, and I must say as an ex graphic designer, the whole thing is wonderfully creative and well executed.The game lasts quite some time - we spent a whole afternoon on it... and had a good amount of fun.There are three possible outcomes - meaning you get to play more than once - so we're looking forward to another session soon.Well worth the money, and a great night in - and as stated, if you go to the extent of setting up the location, and getting participants to wear costumes, this is a great package for a really memorable party.Thumbs-up!

I finally got round to playing this at christmas with my partner and some friends and it was a lot of fun. It did take us quite a while to do, so it was a bit more on the difficult side, but we had also had some glasses of wine so that may have contributed... :DI don't want to give anything anyway, but I will say it was fun and engaging for us adults, and turned out what I think to be great value for money for how much we enjoyed it.You can get more impressive looking games/packaging for the same price, but again, I can't fault it still.

The first impression is that this looks like a very good game to play with a group of friends and/or family, but the rules will take some learning as it’s not for primary school children. The variety and quality of the clues looks good, but I think we’ll try this with a takeaway meal first time so we can concentrate on the game and maybe not so much the food. This will be easier to clear up afterwards because after going over the rules again, I need the wine now. Maybe if you’ve played something like this before it might appear easier to organize.
