Q: Page says bag or tape each battery. Their quick guide says some batteries (e.g 9v or less) can just be dropped in the box (no bag/tape?) Which is it?

Alkaline batteries do not need terminal protection (bagged individually or battery terminals covered with duct/electrical tape). The exception to that are 9v and 12v batteries. Anything Lithium, Lithium-Ion, Small Sealed Lead Acid (SSLA/Pb) DO need individual terminal protection. Roger. I have never had any problem with the batteries. I make sure all of them are in the plastic bags provided with the box. I've put multiple batteries in a bag, just not a whole bunch. Thank you for recycling rather than putting those batteries in the landfill. Bill
