10700 Genuine Gov't A.F. Pilots Sunglasses AO (Black, 57MM)

I had a pair of these for about 3 years and still have them today, the paint finish is the same as it was the day i got them, and the lenses only suffer some very very minor scratches and one chip (all from my own use and abuse, they survived 3 summers of working for a camp and many other adventures in between, including being dropped, sat on, and more. These are certainly the best glasses I've owned (also the most expensive) but worth it!One thing I found with these glasses is they seemed to hide glare more so than tint everything dark, so it's easy to find yourself wearing them indoors without realizing it because they're a comfortable light level anywhereYes I now currently own two pairs, that's how great they are.

Fit very well, very nice build quality. Had to adjust bridges abit for large? nose but very happy.

This aren't my perfect glasses (I prefer more mirroring), But they comfortable fit my large face, reduce glare, are nice to look through and look drop dead sexy with my beard.

Well....I really question if these are actually genuine AO. The paint is flaking off every surface, and the metal bar/frame across the top has cracked so now they are garbage. They looked great for the first couple months! I would appreciate a genuine pair of glasses!!

I am proud to wear the original style aviators and damn do they look good. I really disliked the look of the ray-ban aviators because of their weird asymmetrical lenses but I still wanted aviators. Thankfully I came across these, compared to the ray-bans these seem to have superior lenses, and they are comfortable even after wearing them all day. On top of that they are half as much.

This is my second pair; I lost my first gunmetal ones, and decided to go with Black this time.Reiterating what most others have already said, they're incredibly solid glasses. Pick a pair of these up by your hands and you can feel the clear weight difference.My previous pair was a size too small, so they kept sliding downwards and after prolonged wear, I'd start getting headaches. No such issues with the new pair, however.I am taking a single star off simply because my parts of my Black Frame have their coating peeling off, revealing the material (steel?) under it. So far, it's been both inner sides just before the plastic "bayonets" start - I'm assuming it's because these are the points of contact with my sweat/skin.Great pair nonetheless.

I just received these sunglasses in the mail today (two days earlier that expected!) The 57mm glasses fit exceptionally well. The nose piece fits my (large) nose comfortably, but better than my prescription eyeglasses. The bayonet style ear pieces also fit very well and are easy to slide back over my head, even when wearing a cap. The glass lenses provide crystal clear vision, and the medium grey tint is not too dark. I had a couple of pairs of RayBan aviators in the past and found them to be great glasses, but pricey. The American Optical Original Pilots are very similar in style to the RayBans at about a third of the cost. So losing these, or breaking them (as I have done before with the RayBans) doesn't hurt as much ! To sum up, great sunglasses, relatively inexpensive, and look good.

I would expect you want fair and honest reviews.While I ordered and received this a month ago, I didn't open them or inspect until today, as I have other sunglasses too. What I received are not genuine AO Aviators. Here are some obvious differences from the real item:- TEMPLE; black instead of clear covers, incorrect and shallow branding on inside, incorrect branding style/font- NOSE PAD: not consistent with original on AO website, branding marks incorrect, pad not consistent with AO nose pads- CASE: the case is incorrectly branded, uses Velcro instead of snap closure....and the biggest giveaway? COLOR. I ordered black, but AO does NOT even sell a black frame model, except for a limited edition version with gradient lenses. These are not the limited edition model.This is the fifth pair of AO's I've purchased from Amazon. Since discovering that these were not genuine, I examined my other four pairs and discovered that all are NOT genuine AO sunglasses. Between the five pairs, there are three different branding styles and markings. None are consistent with genuine AO Aviator glasses. I will say that I've worn three of the five pairs and they function as sunglasses just fine, but I believed these to be genuine AO's. They are not. The fourth pair was missing a temple ear piece (bayonet) and I figured I'd just order one from the company directly. Now that I've done the research I realize that I purchased copy.....five times! (shame on me, but lesson learned.)

These wore out very quickly. Started with the stems not lining up when folded, one step would sit on top of the other stem and cause it to stick out pretty far. I had to tighten the screws for the stems within a week of having them. Now they are not at all tight. Not very high quality sunglasses.

These things are great! Lenses are actual glass, no distortions. I've got a big head, I wear a size 8 hat. These fit perfectly on me.Construction is very nice, easily equal to or better than some Ray Bans I've had.

The lenses are nice, the frame is very cheap. They will serve the purpose I bought them for, but thy are lacking fitment. I wasn't expect prescription grade glasses and I was not disappointed. I am sure they will be fine.I guess i have a huge head, the arms still bow out on the side, funny though, the mesurement slisted for these are actually larger than my prescription glasses.

The frame color started wearing out within a couple of months of use, the glass got scratches! I doubt the product is original! I gifted it to someone and now when I met him I came to find out the product is not as anticipated!
