Love this baffle
I have the Vance and Hines slip-on, 4 inch, slash cut muffler. This quite baffle did just what I wanted. The bike is just a little quieter but has a great deep sound on my Yamaha 950. When you crack the throttle it barks. Best of all, this baffle got rid of that rasp sound as you shift and accelerate. Less popping on deceleration. Feels like I have more power too. Hard to get the muffler's baffle out. Had to use a slide hammer with axle bearing removal fingers. (O'Reillys auto lent me the tool). Knocked it back in with a piece of 1inch PVC and a hammer. Be sure bolt holes are lined up before knocking back in. Fits perfectly. Love my bike now.

Gave my V&H slip on mufflers a weird cadence on deceleration.
They did stop the backfire pop on deceleration I had prior to installing these and quieted them down a bit, but it’s not a good sound.I think the 4” V&H mufflers just aren’t very good and these aren’t going to make them better.Way expensive for what they are!

highway ride more enjoyable
The media could not be loaded. After purchasing the vance and hines slip on for my v star 950, it sounded great at idle, but was extremely loud on the highway that the ride was actually uncomfortable. This baffle completely solved the problem, it sounds fantastic on acceleration (like you're on a bike and not a scooter) but now has a nice purr on the highway. I wish I would have bought this before I bought a fuel management system for $200, I'll bet it would have remedied the popping on deceleration issue as well.

Not that quiet
Dosent so much make the exhaust quieter but gives it a much more pleasant “bark”

not that quiet and difficult to remove old baffels
reduces the "pop" that is annoying. Pipes slightly quieter with lower frequency exhaust note. These are the only insert made by Vance &Hines for the slash cut pipe for the Harley Road King. Worth the money

Changes the frequency of the exhaust more than silencing it.....
This changes the frequency of the muffler more than silencing it. I am happy with the result - it removes the low frequency 'droning' that I had before. You may want these if you have a touring bike with V&H dresser duals exhaust and no cats, I have a 103 Rushmore.

The V&H instructions are terrible.. so here’s what to do
If you don’t have these tools already, go to your local hardware or autobody store and RENT a Slide Hammer AND a 2/3 Jaw Puller attachment. If it all comes in one, great!Remove the two Allen bolts at the business end of the slip-on muffler.See YouTube on how to use these tools before moving on. Adjust the jaw puller to have the grip pointing outwards. Tighten to ensure firm grip inside the baffle as it will grab the edges (or small lip). Use these tools to extract the inner baffle, GENTLY!! Once baffle is out, insert your quiet baffle and bolt it in place. Now this is important- when inserting the baffle, ensure you LINE UP THE HOLES before you tap it in with a mallet. Due to the slash cut, use a piece of 2x4 to go across the baffle, and then tap away. Then bolt it up and you’re good to go.The sound is much improved! The slip-on doesn’t sound like a rattling can - it’s still loud, but a more refined and controlled rumble. It sounds much better than before. Loud is good - too loud is no good. I was skeptical as there’s a lot of videos that really don’t demonstrate the difference in sound - but once I had it installed, I can honestly say it is well worth the investment.
