Pure Original Ingredients Salicylic Acid 20% Solution (30 mL), Pure & Simple Serum

I purchased this about a month ago as a last ditch effort. I stopped taking birth control over a year ago and my face acne came back with a vengeance. My body felt incredible but my skins was a mess. I spent months trying creams and probiotics, but nothing worked until this. Within just a month my skin is nearly clear. Finally!!! I do have a few recommendations if you plan to try this for the first time. I apply a light layer over my problem areas morning and night. It mildly stings for about 5 minutes after applying but it goes away quickly. It does dry out skin, so I use an exfoliating face brush daily and an exfoliating cream every other day. I use a lightweight moisturizer morning and night as well. I did this for about a month and my acne is nearly erased. So, now I will start to use it as a spot treatment as needed. For me, blemishes dry up in 1-2 days with this. It’s incredible stuff. This is officially a staple in my house and I highly recommend this to anyone struggling with breakouts. I couldn’t be happier with the results!!

Now let me first start off by saying- this stuff is a gift from the heavens. Better than tea tree oil or whatever else I’ve used to help with blemishes. But let’s go more into detail: Before purchasing this, you really wanna make sure you have some type of witch hazel or something like that , to help with the burn and redness. Because this stuff does BURN- a lot. Fortunately though: your skin will get used to the burning sensation after a few times of using this. Secondly- the first time you use this on the problem area, leave it on for like 20 seconds. Yes it’s gonna burn. Yes, the initial reaction will scare you- but the redness, irritation, and puffiness will subside after a few hours. Not gonna lie when I first used this stuff on this stupid bug bite I had, the way it made my skin look- terrified me lol. But the results were something out of a book of sorcery or something because… just trust the process. Now the effects- For the first few hours, the problem area, bite, acne, etc- will look super inflamed and red. But I would say after maybe 6-8, whatever bump, bug bite or pimple you had, will literally shrivel up. I’d recommend applying this a few times throughout the day, if you really want it your bump to wilt away- and die. Also, PLEASE get some type of neutralizer like witch hazel or whatever, to help with the redness. Also, after about 20-30 seconds- wash with COLD water. You’ll thank me later. If you do this, When you wake up in the morning, it’ll pretty much be either- gone, or close to it. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. Now the after effects- You may have some “scarring”. This scared me at first, as the bump was gone, but the area around it- darkened. Good news is- it literally peels away after like a day, and pretty brand new skin appears, feeling nice and smooth. I have had medical grade peels in the past. Although peels performed by a licensed Dermatologist are of higher grade, this is a great at home and/or alternative product that delivers results. Things to consider: Consider having a professional medical grade peel first. Wait the time needed to heal. Follow up with this salicylic acid by Pure at home and as prescribed. This product will then better be able to penetrate the skins layers, significantly prolonging and maintaining the results. You may feel a burning, tingling sensation. Your face may turn red. To help mitigate these effects, leave on skin for 30 seconds and only use it a couple of times a week. Once your skin becomes acclimated, you are able to leave it on longer and use it more often. You may experience flaking. This is more true for people who already have dry skin. If you have problematic skin (acne), your skin may purge. It’s important to know that when using any AHA/BHA’s, purging of the skin is a completely normal process. To yield the best results, consistency is key. It may get worse before it gets better. Stick with it. It can take 4-6 weeks to yield full results. You do not need a neutralizer. Cool water applied to the face will neutralize this product. In fact, if you read the ingredients in a neutralizer, you will see it’s just (distilled) water. Save your money here. Moisturize. Any acids can be extremely drying to the skin, so it’s important that you have a good moisturizer. Applying a face oil after your moisturizer as the last step of your skin care routine can hugely beneficial your skin’s moisture content. Acids will make your skin hyper sensitive to the sun’s rays, so it is imperative that you use at least a SPF 30 in the morning on daily basis. Over time, this product will render visible results, reducing pore size, blackheads, acne and fine lines. This will lead to your skin’s texture looking and feeling smooth and radiant. Worth incorporating into your skin care routine.

Love this product! Clears up my breakouts in days. It does burn a little so make sure you follow the instructions of leaving on for only 30 seconds snd rinsing with cold water. I typically put it on at night and I can def tell the difference the next morning.

I have been exfoliating my face with salicylic acid once a month for the past three years. As customary I washed my face three times and then wiped my skin with an alcohol saturated gauze two times. (I have oily skin) When my skin was dry, I applied the Pure Original Ingredients 20% Salicylic Acid on my entire face. I did three passes at 5-minute intervals trying to get my skin to frost. It burned like salicylic acid should burn when applied but my skin had very minimal frosting around the crow's feet area. I never rinse my face after applying salicylic acid. I decided not to do a fourth pass which I have never done before. I had minimal peeling in the areas that had frosted. I'm very disappointed with the results. Wasted time and money.

I’m 52 and started breaking out daily after turning 50, especially on my forehead. I tried everything: diet changes, old acne creams, dermatologist visits, facials, even a chemical peel. Nothing worked long term and makeup just made it worse. I have Hashimoto’s, hypothyroidism, and menopause symptoms, so my skin has been extra challenging. I started using this 20% salicylic acid solution in April. Week 1 I applied it twice, Week 2 three times, and by Week 3 my face was completely clear, like glass skin, it’s 9/17 and I’m about to buy my 2nd bottle. And now I only use it once or twice a week for maintenance. Even through summer sunscreen use, I’ve stayed nearly breakout free with no scarring. Bonus: it also cleared the bumps on my arms (PK) and smoothed small skin growths. Nothing works for everyone and this is just my personal experience. Always consult a professional before using strong products like this. I highly suggest getting a first timers chemical peel to see how the pros do it, and if it helps you. Actually I had a chem peel days before my “before” photo and so it’s not showing how really terrible it was… that’s why I looked into home chem peel and found this. ALSO, I have rosacea, this doesn’t cure it, but it hasn’t gotten worse, and when I’m super red I can at least wear a cover up and it’s not all bumpy.

I've used this product 3 times now. The first time, I left it on my face for 30 seconds, then rinsed. I was afraid to burn myself by leaving it on longer. The following week, I left it on my face for 3 minutes, then rinsed. A few days later, I was looking for signs of skin peeling. Nothing. The following week, I left it on my face for 3 minutes and was waiting for some tingle. Nothing. I reset my timer for another 2 minutes. No tingle. But I rinsed anyway. Looked for peeling during the week. Nothing. Now, I've read other reviewers who showed photos of their burn from using this product, so I have to wonder if my batch was just old and so, useless. After all, I'm not an alligator sitting here typing, so I have human skin and should have experienced something. I experienced nothing. How long do you have to leave this product on? I've made my own serum from salicylic acid 2% years ago and it worked! That's what I'm going back to now. This trial and error with commercial products is a waste of money.
