SCHLAGE FE285 CAM 622 GEO Camelot Trim Lower Half Front Entry Handleset with Georgian Knob, Matte Black

We recently changed our door to having a coded/fingerprint locking mechanism to lock and open our front door. We still had just the regular round doorknobs, and I didn't like the look. So, I searched online and liked the look of this one the best. I'm so pleased with my choice! This is made of quality materials and is very tough and seems like it will last a good long time. It is beautiful and really dresses up my front door the way I hoped it would. It was very easy to install, and is smooth as silk when using. I like that I was able to just get the handle, since I already had a lock. The price was reasonable compared to many others of this caliber that are available in the big box hardware stores, and they only seem to have the ones with the lock included -- which is a waste of money if you don't need it. I highly recommend this brand and this unit.

As a replacement for a preexisting entry handle, it was straightforward to install. The bright brass is very shiny. The mechanism is smooth and positive. A classy upgrade.

These were so easy to install, but if your replacing old hardware I will give some information that might help. I'm a 67-year-old handy woman. This replaced my old Kwikset bronze door handle and its strike plates have rounded edges, where these are squared. For new install square is much easier to chisel, but for replacement, you just can't replace into a rounded cutout, you must modify it to be square. It was a pretty quick job with a utility knife and a screwdriver.Also, the Kwikset bottom attachment is just a peg with a hole in the exterior side of the door only. I had to drill through the door to install this product because it screws through the door. Wasn't too difficult using the exterior hole as a pilot.I bought the product to match the keyless deadbolt I had installed. The finish has held up to our saltwater environment. The new stainless steel hinges did not.

I saw this handle as part of a set at Home Depot and immediately liked it. However, I wanted a digital keyed deadbolt and ended up having to order through Amazon to get exactly what I wanted. The deadbolt is the Schlage BE365 CAM 609 Camelot Keypad Deadbolt, Antique Brass. The antique brass finish on this lock is not available on all Schlage products, which is a shame, because I find it to be one of their more attractive finishes, especially when paired against a woodgrain door.I installed this on a newly installed prehung front door. The prehung door came with cutouts and I made some small adjustments in the jamb to ensure the latching mechanism occupied smoothly. The directions and cutout frame were of good quality. I had one small moment where I did not completely understand the template markings as provided: the lower door drill marking on the template is actually adjustable and the attaching bolt in the door handle can slide up and down roughly 3/4 of an inch to accommodate any door peculiarities. I had initially drilled the hold at the top most marking, which I assumed was the proper marking after checking out the door handle against my door. After drilling, it appeared I was off--which I did not understand. It was off because the sliding bolt in the bottom of the handle had moved. In short, with my door, I could have drilled at the top or the bottom of that lower template marking and anywhere in-between. This door handle does not have a lock as part of it and you will need a deadbolt to secure your door. Additionally, the lever handle comes in either the "left hand door" and the "right hand door" options: know which one you need before you place your order so you do not end up with the inner handle pointing in the wrong direction! There is also a similar Camelot model that comes with the inner door knob, as opposed to the lever.
