Yes, you get what you pay for - if you were hoping for an inexpensive device to handle both Windows and Apple screencasting... keep shopping.While not a deal breaker, having to press a button to toggle modes is inconvenient (if it's difficult to reach behind the tv where you've hidden this device). It would be SO MUCH better to have a web GUI accessible in both modes so you could do a soft reset and switch modes (or just auto sense?).My particular gripes:- very fickle, required a reboot often to get in a mode that would successfully communicate with either PC or Apple- at times it would connect straight away -- other times, took several reboots before I could connect- about half the time the WAP function didn't work in Apple mode, so I couldn't get to the GUI to change it to connect to a different Wifi network easily.This product is WAY to problematic to be an Amazon's choice. I'm not sure what's up with all the 5-star reviews (uh hem - "verified purchases, right?") -- but I give it 3, because it (sometimes) does what it says it should do... and some of those times it's just easy to connect.If you are planning to travel with this and connect to various Wifi networks -- I don't recommend this product.If you are planning to install this neatly and out of the way - AND need to use both PC and Apple to screencast -- I don't recommend this product. You need to be able to press the mode button on the device.Also - if your TV / projector does not have USB to power the unit -- you'll find the short USB cable frustrating (maybe) -- might need a short USB extension. It does come with a HDMI extension (6" or so) -- which was nice.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  It was purchased to cast my phone to projector, since my previous hdmi cable stopped to work. I have to say, now this one is very impressed. Great image quality, smoothly videos cast as well. Would recommend, it worth my every penny.Will upload photo or video later

It does exactly what is says. I tried it with my iPhone and macbook =D . Im seriously impressed. I can use my laptop on the internet and be casting the content to the TV at the same time. Same thing with my phone it copies the screen of my phone to the tv, like Netflix youtube , instagram and more. Seriously amazing!

Its a cheap alternative to an Airplay that can live stream your video camera display.But I had to buy a 99 cent app, to take the Menu away from the viewer, so that now, I can live feed the video from my iphone to the TV without the menus. Its nice. But a bit shaky and slow compared to the Airplay which does the same thing but a bit better and a lot more expensive.

This was purchased to handle both Android and Apple devices. The unit requires a button press to reboot into the other mode of operation. It does seem to remember the last mode upon startup. While the unit becomes a WiFi access point for an Apple device to connect to, for Android/PC a local WiFi needs to be joined by both devices. I was looking to use this without the need for a local WiFi. Hoping I might still find a way to accomplish Android connections without a local WiFi.I was looking for distance and my laptop with clear line of sight worked at a distance of almost 50 ft but stepping in between and the signal was lost.Video sync and timing was well, occasional slip noticed but acceptable to me.

Would have given 5 stars but user manual instructions lacking in troubleshooting. Turns out I needed a firmware upgrade to support iOS version 12+. However, customer support was excellent as they contacted me immediately after I posted my review. Response was excellent with several email communications until we discovered firmware version on my dongle needed upgrade. Now both PC and iOS mirroring works great.

Better than expected. Easy to setup and use. Intermittent audio issues with it cutting out for 5 or 10 seconds. But other than that, great buy.

The product works pretty good. I use it to connect my iPhone to a projector that I purchased through Amazon. It did freeze on me but it’s not a deal breaker. I’m glad I purchased. Thank you.
