I’m a knife collector and enthusiast. I love big folders and this large Luzon by cold steel is a fantastic blade. Stout, good blade stock, good quality steel at this price point. Still lightweight and compact for the pocket. It’s a fun and absurdly large, almost novelty knife but like all cold steel knives, it’s very capable. Of the dozens of knife brands I own, from budget to custom, cold steel still produces the best factory edge of any knife I’ve ever used. Incredibly sharp out of the box and aus8/10 steel takes a razor sharp edge but is easy for even a novice to sharpen. This is the most knife you can get for the money, in my opinion. Cold steel’s knives have increased in price since they were bought out by another company and sometimes for the worse but it’s nice when you still have very fun, affordable options in this price range. Phenomenal knife and I highly recommend you get one, and one for a friend.

I like this knife a lot, I'd call the blade a cross between a kitchen knife and a bayonet. it is long enough to handle most anything you will need to cut. Thick enough to make the blade hold-up to plenty of EDC use, yet not too wide to get in the way. The sabre grind and blood groove makes it a fair choice for defense.Search "Detroit dog attack" and you'll know what I'm mean defenceMany people poopoo it for the choice of materials used. But that keeps the price down to maybe a third of higher end materials. I hit it lightly with an Arkansas black stone once a week or so and it stays plenty sharp enough. Another thing important to me anyway is I can open it with one hand, normally nothing to brag about but my hands don't work soo good, a lot of knives take me two hands to openI saw many reviews saying how big this knife is. If I lived where I could go to jail or worse for having it in my pocket I'd think it's big too. It fits fine in my pocket, the only time I find it big is when I try to put it in my pocket sitting down. Around here the size is like my dad and uncles used to say "Nothing Thing" so I don't have to worry about scarring people. Often instead of trying to put in my pocket without standing I will clip it to my t-shirt collar so I can't walk off without it and forget it's there.For me a high end version of this knife tiny enough to be legal in Michigan (just silly size limit ) would be an awesome little knive.

I already had the smaller Luzon that’s been in my pocket ever since. Definitely the perfect EDC for me. I’d tossed around getting the big boy for a while and finally pull the trigger. In a word, BEASTLY. Exactly like it’s little brother, except I don’t know whether to cuddle it lovingly in my arms or split wood with it. It’s very big, it came razor sharp, and like all Cold Steel products I’ve bought over the years, it’s a helluva good value. You’ll have to excuse me, I think I will cuddle a bit now.

I've been buying Cold Steel knives for 25 years now and have yet to be disappointed. This Luzon is impressive. Like most Cold Steel large folders, it will make sheepdogs smile while simultaneously frightening the sheep, so consider your surroundings when presenting this demi-sword.Overall an outstanding value. Comes sharp out of the box and doesn't take much to get it razor like. I don't plan to EDC this but it's still comfortable in jeans. Great fit and finish all around.This is my first Cold Steel knife that doesn't have the Triad Lock so I was curious to see their take on a liner lock; overall, VERY Cold Steel... I won't trust it as much as a Triad, but it's a beefy liner lock with positive engagement. Once, a little to positive. My Luzon did "over" lock once when I very enthusiastically waved it out of my pocket. I have read about this happening to other Luzon owners. I fixed this with pliers and it hasn't happened again. It didn't stop deployment but then the pliers are needed to close it.In closing I love this knife. Beautiful balisong blade shape and smooth - fast flip out deployment, with the finger flipper or when waving out of the pocket. I'm glad I bought it and I think it's a great addition to anyone's collection.

This is now my favorite knife. It really is a beast. Came in razor sharp. Flips open easily. The lock is great; it locks and unlocks easily and I really like the secondary lock. The grip is very comfortable. When I pull it out to show people and flip it open, they all jump back and say "wow." It is excellent quality. I am very pleasantly surprised because this knife was only $31. Best bang for your buck that I have had so far from Cold Steel. I love Cold Steel knives because they never disappoint. This is now my favorite knife and I carry it with me every day. I love the wow factor, so I show it to lots of people for bragging rights. Buy it! You won't be disappointed. I plan on buying the medium size 4 inch blade Luzon next to carry when I am wearing something that doesn't have a big enough pocket for my new "beastie" (this knife). I am so excited about this knife that I just have to go show it off some more today. Amazon will probably sell many more after I get done showing people because everybody that I show wants one!
