Another 5 star book
I don't know why I go into reading one of Freida's books and think I can figure it out. I almost did but the big reveal left me breathless. I knew something had to be up but it definitely wasn't that. This was a fun, uncomfortable, unnerving story that I know I will read again in the future to see if there were any clues to the twist.

classic freida
i enjoyed this freida book, but it wasn't my favorite of hers. i prefer female characters as the main instead of male characters. i didn't guess the twist, but i also wasn't as enthralled with this one as some of her other books. i definitely wasn't biting my nails waiting to see what happened. 3.5 🌟

Freida does what Freida does !
The twist was wild , per usual . If you’ve never experienced a Freida McFadden twist before this book gives a prime example of complex writing , multiple POVS and DEPTH. Who is Whitney , who is hell who am I ? Who knows but I know I’ll NEVER get a Tenant .

wow
So I was lucky enough to get to be a first reader so I spent the day finishing this and all I can say is . . . Wow. I’m usually really good at predicting the endings to her books but not this time! Besides her uncanny ability to make you both dislike a character and develop an attachment to them at the same time, she has a way of twisting you right onto your face. Just when she lets you think you’ve got it figured out she hits you with the good stuff and doesn’t leave you any room to breathe. Absolutely loved it. This was a 5 star for me.

Freida does it again!!!
This Tenant was absolutely amazing. I thought I had it figured out as I was reading along and then surprise something changed and had me thinking again. I was kept in suspense throughout the book. Truly one of Freida’s best books.

No Place Like Home
Okay, hold the phone and clear your schedule, because Freida McFadden's "The Tenant" has just redefined 'unputdownable'! (yes, that's a word!) I tore through this book so fast, I think I might have set a new land-speed record for page-turning – definitely finished it in less than a day. My dogs probably thought I'd been replaced by a very focused, occasionally gasping, reading gargoyle.McFadden, the undisputed QUEEN of the twists (all hail!), must have a cackling good time writing these. Just when you're smugly thinking, "I've got it! The butler did it in the conservatory with the lead pipe!", Freida basically laughs, does a triple axel plot summersault, and reveals you didn't just have no idea, you were in an entirely different solar system of wrong. It's glorious! And the characters? Oh, honey, they are a masterclass in unlikeability. If there was an award for "People I'd Least Like to Be Stuck in an Elevator With," the cast of "The Tenant" would sweep the nominations. You'll find yourself fervently hoping for their downfall while also, somehow, needing to know what bonkers thing they'll do next. It’s a confusing, delightful mess for your emotions.Plus, prepare for some moments that are just delightfully… disgusting. We're talking about a certain lingering aroma that'll make you wrinkle your nose and maybe side-eye your own perfectly clean house. Think "eau de what-died-in-here" with a sprinkle of "nope, not eating while reading this chapter." It’s the kind of gross-out fun that makes you glad it’s fiction!Seriously, if you want a book that grabs you by the eyeballs, spins you around until you're dizzy with suspense, and makes you laugh at the sheer audacity of it's twists (and the awfulness of it's characters), "The Tenant" is your next thriller read. Go get it – just maybe don't eat snickerdoodles while you do. Or own any goldfish. Or have a particular aversion to flies. You've been warned (and highly encouraged!).
