Very pleased
I just bought a house and had a room with surround speakers built into the ceiling, but needed left and right speakers and a good sub to go with my TV. Ended up purchasing a pair of the Orb Audio MOD1 speakers (two thumbs up there as well) along with this subwoofer. Not sure if a center channel would be justified as the speakers are sitting on a 48" tv stand (not a lot of separation). This sub is very well made and I am pleased with the bass that it puts out. I am by no means an audiophile, but the bass is very tight and not boomy at all (unless you want it that way). My girlfriend said that it would never fit between the tv stand and the wall, but this sub is very compact and fit with room to spare. The room that this is in is about 350 sq. feet and the sub has no problems at all. I am not 20 anymore and don't crank my amp to 11 where the sub may come up a little short. If you aren't looking for a sub to fill a huge room or to rattle your windows, I think you will be very pleased.

Main board fails
Good Speaker, but get board failures 3 times! Had to send to Velodyne all the times until reach warranty limit. So it was a waste of money.

Good but not great
Better for movies than it is music in my opinion. Some detail was missing when I compared with another sub (orb mini). Gets pretty loud and low for its size but it's not detailed enough.

Great sub in a compact package
For a 6.5" sub, this thing packs quite a punch! To be fair, it does have an 8" passive radiator to help with the low end extension, but still, it is definitely enough bass for my 15' x 20' living room. The low end extension isn't the best so if you're using this sub mainly for rap music, you might not be completely satisfied, but it shouldn't leave you disappointed. However, for most other type of music such as rock, classical, jazz, etc, you'll be quite happy. The best part is that the sub itself doesn't take up much real estate, which is good for WAF (wife acceptance factor). I have it sitting behind one of my towers and you'll hardly know it's there until the music comes on. While the price is a bit steep, you're paying for a complete, yet compact package. For comparison, I had this up against the Acoustic Audio 8" downfiring sub and it blew that thing away. Of course this costed 3 times more, but the difference was also extremely significant. The only problem was through the shipping where the left grill piece was broken so -1 star for that.

Amazing Bass for the Size
The output for this unit is absolutely phenomenal. The dimensions of this sub is very small but it will rattle a few things. In fact, I have two units, one connected to a Denon 2112 CI and the other connected to a Pioneer Elite VSX-51. I use Monster cables on both with AudioQuest rca splitters. The clarity and quality will not disappoint -- at all. I would only recommend for medium and small rooms. For large spaces, you may want to go larger, but don't have to. The largest room I'm using it in is about 14' X 25' and it's sufficient. For the price, it's worth trying.

Read On
I originally purchased this as I read the specs and know the companies reputation. That being said I purchased it for my bedroom which is about 13x18. A good size master for my average 3 bed to bath. I was pleased with it's depth and just wish it had a little more bass. I should have gone with an 8 inch not a 6.5 with an 8inch passive. Or maybe even a 12 as I am an audiophile who searches for perfection at a reasonable price for my budget. I would recommend this for a small room but nothing of substantial size.

I was totally pleased at how well the combo works together and fully ...
I recently got some Fibhorn 4's which use a Tang Band four-inch full range drivers. I tried two eight-inch subwoofers to round out the sound but they could not keep up with the lightening fast Tang Bands. Finally, I tried this unit with a 6.5 inch (really about 5 inch) driver and they blended perfectly with the T-B's in both speed and scale set at 80hz. I was totally pleased at how well the combo works together and fully recommend trying out this model or any model super-ceding this one for matching the performance of a small, high quality bookshelf speaker. This subwoofer is small but it is NOT a desktop, computer speaker by any means. It's a real piece of machinery. Of course, it will work best in a small to medium room and is not going to deliver Big Screen Thrills--that's a job for the big boys.
