SeedRanch Pensacola Bahia Grass Seed - 5 Lbs

Fast service and great germination and growth with this seed when I broadcasted into an unprepared but thin lawn. Its filling in fast.

I planted my lawn from store-bought seed 3 years a ago and just recently wanted to overseed it and fill in some bare spots with this Pensacola Bahiagrass, while simultaneously sowing a different, shade-tolerant seed in areas of my yard that are shaded. I know what I’m doing with seed and sowing a lawn, following all the manufacturer’s directions and properly caring for the seed so & seeded areas of the lawn. The shade seed sprouted like mad, and is growing vigorously, enjoying all the same surface prep, cover, and subsequent watering as the areas seeded with this Bahiagrass. Bihiagrass is great, but THIS vendor’s seed product is worthless. 2+ weeks in, not a single seed has sprouted ANYwhere.

Growth is very slow. Even with watering the everyday. Not sure if it was my soil but grass is coming up slowly. I like the look of the grass.

With so many choices of seed and all the claims made I definitely made the right choice. This seed does not disappoint. This was my first attempt to seed rather than waste tons of money on sod. Prepped large area of the back yard by loosening the soil and removing any weeds. Added an inch of topsoil, spread seed evenly using a jar with a perforated lid. Pressed in in by foot, covered with 3-4 inches of peat moss and watered twice daily. Newly planted sprouts of grass started appearing in just over a week. This seed is slow to germinate so be patient and keep it watered regularly until it gets well established

It took me several months to prepare my land for the grass seeds. I kept them in my fridge. When I was ready, I cast the seeds. I love it that I can see where I have seeds - the coating - tells. I made sure there was contact with the soil, watered and within a week I had germination and a lot of it. It is almost 100%.Water, water, water it is perfect. A fragile green carpet already, love it. Success.

Took more then a week and several messages to them, asking why our order has not shipped, before they actually shipped our order. After planting and germination we found the seed was filled with weeds and other grass seeds. Much of the bahia seed never germinated even after months of watering and rain which eventually washed away ungerminated seed and soil we were trying to preserve and had to be backfilled with fresh soil and reseeded with a different brand of bahia. Really disappointed after spending so much money on 25 lbs of this seed.
