The Smurfs Anthology #3 (3)

Another Great Anthology for Smurf Lovers!
I was a huge Smurfs fan growing up, but I never had the graphic novels, I was into the figurines and the cartoon. I've gotten all 3 anthologies so far, and I think this one is the best yet. They all feature wonderful drawings and vibrant coloring, and have a lot of content for the price. I read these with my 6 year old son, and we both find ourselves cracking up sometimes. All the anthologies seem to end with a Johan and Pewit story, and I think this is the best one so far, it has more Smurfs involved.

Nice full size reprinting of an underrated comic book series
Most people I meet have a very VERY low opinion of the Smurfs, because all they can remember is the Hanna Barbera cartoon of the 80's. These comics predate those cartoons by many years and are in a class all to themselves. The defining attribute of the Smurfs is that they often feature a fairly intricate setup to a long gag-filled plot. There is a lot of great slapstick in these stories and it is definitely worth checking out. There are currently other printings of the Smurf stories, but they are at a reduced size, so can be a bit difficult to read if you are older than 40.These "Anthology" versions of the Smurfs stories preserve the original size of the Smurfs comics (which were the same size as Tintin and Asterix), so make for much more comfortable reading.
