I bought this UPETTOOLS aquarium gravel cleaner after one too many Saturday mornings spent scooping water by hand. Total game changer. It’s electric, easy to use, and saves a ton of time. Setup took less than five minutes. You just attach the tube, drop the vacuum head in the tank, and plug it in. The suction is strong enough to pick up debris and fish waste without sucking up the gravel or stressing out the fish. It even gets into corners and around decorations where junk usually hides. The water changer feature works smoothly too. Flip a switch and it drains straight into a bucket without spilling everywhere. Refilling is just as simple. I’ve used it three times now and my water stays cleaner between changes, which means less work overall. The attachments make it easy to clean algae, remove sand buildup, and reach tight spots. It’s one of those rare tools that does exactly what it promises. This is after my 1st use of the tool since purchase. It was a little tricky to assemble, but afterwards I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to use and it was pretty quiet too. Water did drip out of everywhere after removing from tank, so I highly recommend having a small bucket for the main apparatus, tools and hose to drain in so your floor doesn't suffer. I may update my review if the quality of product declines in the future.

Update: Now giving four stars after many months of using a replacement unit. I can give this product a higher recommendation. I have not had any problems with the motor on this second unit. I'm now even using it with a 50ft siphoning hose to directly power send water to the sink. Fits a 5/8 diameter hose very well. Much better than the thin, ribbed hose that's included with the unit. It's fraying at the ends, and the ribs makes the inside more difficult to dry and can lead to algae, mold, or fungal growth. Three stars for design and accessories that met my needs but low motor quality. The unit comes with a ball mesh attachment (sand wash head) that keeps small fish from being sucked into the system. I use it around small Kuli Loaches and 3 month baby fish without sucking them up. Also, I first tried using the system with the duckbill shaped suction, and did suck up one of my loaches and baby fish. I was pleased to find both fish alive and well in my water bucket. This system, apparently, has a better water flow-through system than similar products. One of the reasons I picked this system was the sand head. Other products I tried would kill the fish if they sucked them into their fan/blade chamber. Faster water suction rate than most other systems I've tried. I had to increase my sweeping speed along the bottom of the tank because the system filled my water bucket so much faster. Unfortunately, my unit stopped working after 2 months. Motor failure within 6 months is the main reason why I've tried several of these types of products. It would be nice if a well known and trusted company in the aquarium hobby would make a quality product to help with tank cleaning. I hope that most consumers would be willing to pay more for a quality product that worked well and had a motor system that didn't wear out. Because it's safer around my small fish, I'll try another one of these. Amazon did refund the broken unit.

Horrible device . It actually makes the tank a whole lot worst . I am better off using my old siphon and doing a better job with that . I used this to make the cleaning and water changes easier but it did not vacuum the substrate like it should. Instead it sucks it up and throws my substrate everywhere . Even with the sock looking filter on. Please don’t waste your money or time on this

Works great, just what needed. I have 3 tanks and it helps cut down on cleaning time.

This is a great device and a practical replacement for a siphon. However, I went back to using a siphon for a few reasons: - electric cleaner is a little finicky to use - cord is too short and power button is inconveniently placed - hose that comes included is cheap and moves too much Great potential but in my opinion this device needs some improvements. The attachments are great though, and they do their job well.

Does a good job cleaning out tank

I use the Aquarium Gravel Cleaner today to clean my 75 gallons fish tank, and here is the feedback. 1) When using the Filter bag with the sand washers, most of the dirt was just simply flow back to the tank immediately. Probably the dirt is so small that it passes through the filter bag. Not effective to remove the dirt this way. 2) Then I try to do a water change with gravel cleaning (i.e. The flexible host with sand washer). However, the pump is so strong and there is no way to control the suction force, all the gravels suck into the sand washer and block it. 3) I found that there is no way to clean the dirt inside the sand washer.

Great product, i love being able to "vacuum" the rocks and not have to always do water changes.

Me sorprendió la potencia que tiene este aparato sin duda volvería a comprar otro cuando esté deje de funcionar, que yo diría que va ha tardar bastante tiempo, llevo más de 6 meses con el, lo uso para dar mantenimiento y mantener el agua circulando en una pecera de 140 lts, la verdad no uso todos los complementos pero si los llegue a probar, el único inconveniente es la pequeña bolsa (filtro) se tapa muy rápido fuera de eso todo bien.

I have only used this one time so far and it seems to work pretty good. I have no complaints about it at this time.
