Substantial upgrade over the little fluid reservoir
My original reservoir that came with my Mityvac couldn't hold a vacuum after just the first couple uses. Horrible leaks on the cap seal. This is way superior in sealing. Add a 50mm OD 45.2mm ID O-ring and the sealing is perfect.

Finally, sufficient capacity.
Bought this to replace home-brewed vehicle fluid reservoir suction tool (brake fluid reservoirs, power steering reservoirs, etc.). Used Amazon-sourced o-rings to properly seal bottle for usable suction to remove fluids. Works like a champ. The 16 oz. capacity is more than enough to empty most power steering reservoirs and brake fluid reservoirs. I have used it for that purpose on a Honda, Acura, Jeep, and Dodge. Haven't had to empty it and resume suctioning reservoir yet. Got each reservoir emptied in one shot. Using Mityvac hand suction pump to pull suction for removing fluid and bottle hasn't collapsed yet. Thanks Mityvac.

Diesel Strong!
Just received my Mightyvac 16-ounce, fluid-reservoir kit, MVA6005. The price of this bottle fluctuated widely, but at its low point, I scooped it up. Been using my hand-held Mityvac pump for almost 30 years and like it alot—despite having that tiny reservoir!! Can’t believe I now have a “big-boy bottle.” This is an initial-impression review. I am not sure what all the negative reviews are about, concerning this bottle. Some pertain to it not holding a vacuum. Others stated that the walls of the bottle collapse under vacuum…. Weird. I can say when I first put this bottle in my hand and tried squeezing it, the proof was there. This thing is solid as a rock. Not sure if it was recently redesigned, but I was impressed after reading some people’s comments. I haven’t applied vacuum yet…. I can do an update afterwards. I’m not worried. Glad I now own it.

Worked for me
Others have said they couldn't get a seal on the cap. I didn't have any problems. Worked well for me.

s almost useless as you are constantly emptying it for any sort ...
I wish I had bough this a lot sooner. I have the little container that came with my vacuum pump, but it;s almost useless as you are constantly emptying it for any sort of real fluid evacuation. I mainly bought this as I needed something large enough to not be annoying for sucking the fluid out for a power steering flush on my truck. Works well and is good quality. Little pricey for what it is, but I've used Mityvac products for years and they last. You will likely need to get some more clear hose as this comes with only a tiny piece, but that is pretty cheap at a hardware store.

unreliable
This bottle is well-made, and the metal hook allows it to be suspended from a chain dangling from the suspension spring down to the same level as the brake caliper so that the bottle won't topple over when it's mostly empty and the hoses can be kept short so as to minimize spillage when they're disconnected at the end of the brake bleed. However, brake fluid disrupts the vacuum seal. It has no problem maintaining a vacuum the first time I used it. The moment I emptied it for the first time, it could no longer hold vacuum. The gasket does not appear to be brittle, so not sure what happened to it.

No vacuum leak. It just works
Quality is as expected from mityvac. My old container that came with hand operated vacuum pump was too small for comfortable use. This one complements it perfectly and simply does the job. I am very satisfied with it.

Better size
Bought it to use instead of the small tank that comes with the mityvac. This one is better as it has the hanger and is easier to use.

Expensive for a plastic bottle but it does the job.
Does what it's supposed to do. For the price, I didn't feel like cobbling up something myself.

Far improved
Far improved compared to the old style bottles. They actually seal when closed and don’t pop open when accidentally touched against something
