Great educational game
My grandson could not get enough of this game. It’s so awesome to him for him to be able to name the different parts of the anatomy. My daughter was happy, she likes me to give him educational games. Will definitely buy again.

Excellent, sturdy & durable map of the human body made to be handled at a great price!
I wish there was some kind of lid on this nice wooden box. I'd be happy with a see-thrust plastic paper kind or even just a cardboard lid. Just something that fits the top of the box to keep all the pieces together. The doll with their varying sets of skeleton(bones), muscles, circulatory(blood system) with the heart, & major body organs including the body's largest organ (the skin) as a whole separate set of pieces (1set for male & 1 for a female child.) It is really pretty thorough in it's labeling, diagrams and explanation of anatomy for a beginner. As you expect with Melissa & Doug, this is a very sturdy, durable, hands on learning "toy" that can be utilized by children right on through high school. You know how we learn something when we're young & a few years later can't remember just what that was unless you use it frequently? This set is something a child can enjoy when they are 4-6 years but use again to refresh their mind when they're 8-12 years and possibly again between 14-18 years when you learn more about the human body. It would be ideal as a birthday party gift for almost any age.

Love it!
My kiddos were always asking about parts of the body, so this was a fun thing for my kiddos to start learning about the human body. It’s easy to use, fun for my kids and they love seeing the different colors, they are most interested in the veins. Easy to store in a drawer, it’s worth the price!

Excellent teaching tool for young kids
I purchased this for my 3 year old for Christmas. It was immediately the favorite gift.Pros: excellent teaching tool for the different body systems. Durable material. The pieces are held on by magnet. Detailed pieces. The skin layer is actually anatomically correct for both boys and girls.Cons: the single star is lost because the magnet isn't strong enough to hold multiple layers of pieces on at the same time. We have to lay the doll flat to pile up the layers. Not washer or bathtub proof.Note: I consider the anatomically correct skin layer to be an advantage when teaching a young child about her body. However, I am a nurse. Others probably would not have the same thought. And it does mean I can't let her take the toy to daycare with the pieces that show the full anatomy. If you remove the skin layer, you lose the face and are left with a brain or skull or facial muscle layer. Also, don't let your kid sneek it into the bathtub. The pieces don't survive the encounter with the water. :+)

Great Product and Price!
The line of magnetic dolls is a great addition for a school or home. I bought one for my preschool and my daughter. This is the third kind I've purchased. Ive had a different one for 15 years, being used at home with my son and then at my preschool. Very sturdy and good price.

Homeschool anatomy lesson
I homeschool my kiddos and this was the perfect addition for our anatomy unit. My eldest is using a squishy guts model and we got this Melissa and Doug magnetic “toy” for our four year old whom we are starting preschool for. The lesson was a hit! This is a toy that we will revisit numerous times to cover all the different systems. I picked it because it’s anatomically correct and wanted an age appropriate way to discuss the male and female parts. Like others have mentioned, this needs a lid!!!! Seriously! I’m considering getting a letter tray so that we can sit this horizontally to avoid losing parts while still maximizing space. That way, we can use the other letter tray slots to hold other similar non-lided wooden toys and puzzles. I also wonder if Melissa and Doug’s wire puzzle rack holder would work for this. I may look into getting oneIf this review was helpful, please leave a thumbs up 👍🏼Update on June 1, 2021: The largest Melissa And Doug wire rack designed for chunky puzzles will NOT accommodate this anatomy set. It can only accommodate puzzles up to 3/4” in thickness. The anatomy puzzle is about 1-1/8” thick. I measured. I still haven’t figured out an ideal storage solution. They should REALLY come with lids 😑 It’s been a few years since this purchase and we’ve managed to keep up with all the pieces, even after a cross country move. But we’ve had some close calls. My then 4 year old is now almost 6 and she still uses this. I have a 2 year old now and a 2 month old. So it will continue to get lots of use. Therefore, I’m still contemplating the best way to store this when it’s put away. I can somewhat squeeze it into a Tall clear shoebox container from The Container Store (the ~$5 one) but only if I really push it in. I never got a letter tray to store it on because it doesn’t address my need for a lid. So for now, the shoe box from The Container Store will have to do. And when it’s in use, it just sits on a bookshelf (Montessori style).

Toddler loves & immediately learned the word shoes!
Absolutely obsessed! Very picky kid loves putting the pieces on and as he does I use short description and he immediately picked up on the word shoes. It makes learning fun for him.

Excellent, anatomically correct anatomy set!
I purchased this while in search of an anatomically correct model for our 4 year old daughter. If you don't want your child to see the difference in male and female parts, then avoid this one, but that is exactly why I purchased it! As you can see in the listing, the skin set shows the difference in male and female external anatomy, and the organs set accurately depicts a uterus for the female. This is excellent for our recent conversations on where baby brother is inside mommy's body and how he will get out! The skin set is the same picture for the chest, which is appropriate, but varies with a pink background for girl and blue for boy so that the child can match them with the appropriate bottom half. The only complaint, as with ALL M&D sets is that the box lacks a lid... for the love of all parental sanity, I do not know why they chose to not make lids for these things!!
