Amazon Basics Travel Laptop Backpack for 15.6 inch Laptop, Black

For less than $15, this daypack is an amazing bargain. Let me take you through the features and explain why this is so thoughtfully designed.I have had dozens of daypacks over the years for hiking, traveling, gym, daily use and more. I’ve had packs from High Sierra, Jansport, North Face, Eddie Bauer, REI, Chuck Roast, Wilderness Experience, Outdoor Products, CamelBak, LL Bean, VenturePal and others. This is my first Amazon Basics daypack and for the price, it is impressive.Let me start out with the **two bad things** about this pack.First, the pack will come to you in a tightly wrapped plastic bag and the pack will be folded backwards into a tight little bundle. What this does is create a permanent crease in the back of the pack’s padding and in the should straps. It also causes a permanent bend in the bottom of the pack going towards you as you view from the front. I’ve stuffed the pack with towels and more attempting to remove the dent/crease but to no avail. See photos. You can also see this warping in the other users uploaded video although he does not mention this problem.Second, the compression straps above the water bottle pockets do not unclip and this sometimes makes it difficult to zip/unzip the large main pocket. See photos.And now for all the good things.1. Pack appears to be made out of 400D or 600D polyester which is proven durable, tough fabric. Not waterproof, but reasonably water resistant.2. Size stated as 18x12.4x7.5 which comes out to 27 liters. I think this pack is smaller than that.3. It has four thoughtfully designed and spacious compartments. From front to back we have compartments one – four.a. Compartment one on the front of the larger main front compartment two. The depth of the main front compartment is 10” which is huge and the smaller front of the front compartment also extends the entire length. This is very unusual. See photo.b. Compartment two or the main front pocket compartment is also large and housed the typical assortment of zippered compartments, pen/pencil pockets, Velcro pocket, zipper pocket etc. See photo.c. Compartment three above compartments one and two is a smaller padded compartment for sunglasses, phone etc. See photo.d. Compartment four is the main pack compartment. It features a padded laptops sleeve capable of swallowing a 15” laptop. This sleeve also features another attached smaller kangaroo sleeve for phone or other electronics. This compartment also has a large zippered mesh compartment on the opposite side for whatever you want to stuff in there. See photo.

Boy, backpacks have come a long way since my college days, when I was carrying one every day. Those things were torture devices. Now that I'm older (and have cancer), I need one again. I have to navigate the huge complex of MD Anderson, and need a way to carry my purse and paperwork while freeing up my hands and arms. This backpack is PERFECT. I got the smaller one (perfect size), and have already put my necessities in it (perfect fit!). The ergonomic comfort of the straps, chest clip and how the bag hangs off the back is so comfortable that it feels like it isn't even there. Great pockets and pouches everywhere... very thoughtful design. Ladies, the chest clip will not ride at your belly or bosom. It clips (very comfortably) a little below the clavicle. I'm really impressed... Also, great price!

Strong backpack, comfortable to wear even when heavy. Does not fit well under an airplane seat when using as a personal item

Great bag for the price! Plenty of pockets inside and out! I use it to carry all I need for Dr. appointments, and the treatment center trips. ..would highly recommend!

Good size. Has space for everything. From laptop to the tiny Stationary you need for work or school. Good for travel as well, strong quality.

EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE AN EXTRA ONE OF THESE JUST LAYING AROUND.When I tell you I have NO idea how this bag is only $17 I am not joking-When my kid needs a new backpack, I buy them the name brand I grew up using for durability, etc- AND THOSE BAGS ARE RIDICULOUS AT $50-$100, every couple of years, are you kidding me!?!?!?I could buy a new one of these every single year and come out ahead, not to mention the build quality is surprisingly great, the pockets and storage are surprisingly well thought out, the zippers seem beef, the style is just low key, classy, and the bag is comfortable...People assume this bag EASILY costs triple, which I find hilarious every time- "Nah man, Amazon Basics!"I have now bought *three* because two coworkers said that for $17, they would ABSOLUTELY rock one as a gym bag, extra laptop back, etc etc.

I was on the hunt for a backpack that also had a tablet sleeve which this has. I was surprised to find how well crafted this bag was. Definitely worth the price. Feels durable, and the size is just right for a daily commuter bag.
