Godly lens. Less than half the price of the GM 24-70 2.8, performs just as well.
Quick review:- INDISPENSIBLE focal range, 95% of my shooting can be done on this lens. This lens convinced me on zooms, I used to think I'd only shoot primes.- WIDE aperture, (Same as the best G Master in this focal range) Paired with a Sony a7iii, lowlight shooting becomes a breeze.- FAST and SILENT, (native like, Sony themsleves have declared this lens to be native) autofocus.- QUALITY BIULD, lovely to the touch, everything about this feels great, even the lens cap haha- SHARP- SMALL and LIGHTThis lens is quite simply Godly.

Sharp, fast and versatile.
I've had my A7ii since 2015, and I've only been using it with the 55mm 1.8 (Carl Zeiss) lens and the kit lens. I love the 55mm 1.8, but I wanted something that was as good quality and still allowed me to get wider shots if needed.I compared this Tamron 28-75 2.8 (£750) to the G Master 24-70 2.8 (£1,800) and the Sony 24-105 4.0 (£1,200). I compared the weight, size, price, aperture, range and quality. You might find this hard to believe, but I was very close to buying the G Master, but what put me off wasn't the price, it was the size/weight. I didn't need nor want a lens that size, it would be too much for the photos I take.So then I was left comparing the Sony 24-105 to the Tamron. For me, the main differences were 24mm vs 28mm, and 2.8 vs 4.0. I wanted 2.8 more than I wanted 24mm, and with the added bonus of having ~£400 in my pocket.Since receiving the lens (about 3 weeks ago), It's not left my camera. My Carl Zeiss 1.8 was sharp, and is probably slightly sharper overall, but this Tamron lens is incredible. I'm very impressed and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.Only slight issue I have is, as the lens doesn't have IS built in (obviously the A7ii does), I found some of my shots are slightly blurry, it's just resulted in me speeding the shutter up to combat that, no problems since.

Great lens at a fantastic price
I have been using the Sony a7iii for about a year, I have the 12-24mm Sony lens f4. I was wanting something a bit more all round and I came across this. So much to say about this lens: Great price, especially now as I paid 750 only a few months back. Silent, smooth and quick autofocus. Awesome bokeh at f2.8. Haven't seen too much in the way as of chromatic aberrations. I rate the lens very highly and I am very happy with my purchase. I have attached a few photos, they have been edited in Lightroom, they have been uploaded in Jpeg, if anyone wants a RAW pic just msg me.

Brilliant lens
Fantastic lens. Fast, sharp, no colour fringing, no discernible vignetting. Much cheaper than the Sony alternatives and much lighter, making it perfect for travel and use on a gimbal. Very happy with this lens.

Great alternative to Sony brand zooms, let's have more fe tamron!
I have done extensive tests Vs the 24-105 f4 lens which is it's most direct rival and both are extremely sharp with great AF. At f4 I would say the tamron wins on sharpness but at f2.8 is a little less sharp but still good.If they were the same price it would be a tie, trading off the extra stop of light for range however at current prices if you could only have one id have to pick the tamron for the saved cash. Only consideration is that it doesn't have oss but that only really matters of you have an older body with no IbisAgainst the 24-70 GM I feel it's a bit of an unfair fight as it's in a different price bracket all together however for me, this if good enough when on the 42mp a7riii and I have no desire to drop over 2k on the GM!Note: a wide angle zoom has been announced to compliment this, so looking forward to that too.

Simply the best lens to have
I would say that you could only live with this lens. It is a fast lens with fast autofocus. The compatibility with Sony e-mount cameras is really good. It is not that heavy even when is kind of a big lens. The quality of the material feels descent, since is plastic, but it is robust and the performance is great. It gives really sharp images and produces an amazing bokeh. The only problem is that the lens doesn't have image stabilization, so the shutter speed has to increase to produce stable shots.

Good but quality issue
The Tamron 28-75mm lens for Sony E-Mount is a versatile lens with decent image quality, unfortunately there seems to be some quality control issues.I've read about focusing problems but had thought there were fixed, my particular copy always front focuses at F2.8, and I had thought my camera was to blame.Overall if you can find a working copy, this is a good lens.

It is simply the best all rounder for full frame cameras
I have used the sony lenses and this is far more greater than what I have been reading and watching.Honestly, the sharpness of the lens is just superb. Great aperture and shutter speed.I have been using it for my A7III and it has produced classic pictures both portraits and landscapes.I have also tested the newer version and not a lot of difference in both (Minor differences) except the customization feature in the newer model.I highly recommend this product if you have a full frame camera. It's simply one of the best lenses available. The sharpness of the lens is just out of the world really. Tamron wins in everything.
