Not as flavorful as expected
I've tried using this by soaking in water first to create a paste and then adding it do the dish. I've added it during the cooking process as a powder and near the end of the cooking process to see if excess heat reduced flavor. Even the smell is more of sawdust than porcini mushrooms. I had hoped that the aromas would come out when cooked, but I have not seen that happen. It provides a very subtle flavor if any flavor.

Mushroom powder
This product seemed good. I can't write that much about it, since we bought it because my husband made a sauerkraut recipe which called for about a tablespoon of it. I would like to know what else I could use it for, since 3.5 oz. seems like a lot of powder. I would have given it 5 stars, except I don't know that much about it.

Too much grit for me
The flavor is awesome. Added it to a pork dish and a meatloaf. However the product added a gritty ness that was not pleasant

Nice Earthy, Slightly Fruity Smell/Taste
This is an excellent Porcini powder with a lovely scent & texture! I wish it would come back into stock since it is very hard to find good quality Porcini mushrooms or powder from Siberia for a decent price. I used it for seasoning blends. Nice earthy, slightly fruity smell/taste. Bring it back!!!

Not certified organic, no USDA icon
Sorry to give this product a low rating. The powder is very tasty, and I'd give it 4.3 stars (very little gets 5 stars from me). But the product is not certified Organic with a bona fide green USDA icon. Obtaining this certification requires time, money, and an actual organic product. This requires testing. Products which display this USDA icon are sold by companies which have taken this trouble: inspection, testing, certification. Just because this porcini was harvested in a "pristine" nether region of Siberia, does not make it organic, and to list it here as such is to denigrate the value of the actual USDA icon any other company displays.I will be glad to change my rating when Mushberry removes the "Organic" description, or indeed obtains the proper credentials to legitimately include the proper USDA icon on their label for this product.

My favorite
I mix this into a lot of things for the nutritional value and taste. This is the best I have tried, and I love that it is not sourced from China, like all the other brands I have found. It is probably not easy to get this product right, but Mushbetty does it.

Good flavor but gritty
I used this as an additive in my mushroom risotto for extra flavor. We enjoyed the flavor but both of us were turned off by the grit. I tried the same recipe using porcini powder from WellLeaf and neither of us sensed any grit at all. WellLeaf's is a little more expensive but worth it to us.

product is as described
Good earthy flavor. Used in dry rub ( with black pepper and minced fresh rosemary) for the best flavor ever for pan seared ribeyes.
