Identity Theft is a remarkable book!
This book comes highly recommended for good reason. I found it to be a wonderful effort to bridge between creative presentation and providing historically accurate information. Fully in accord with the realization that our Messiah's identity has been stolen, or hijacked, I was pleased to see this awareness put in novel form. The research, prayer, and understanding that went into it is very apparent to me.For centuries, the best sources of information were what we call "eye witnesses" rather than whatever current interpretation might be in vogue. Identity Theft is a showcase for eye witnesses to speak in a personal manner.Though it is presented in a more expository and conversational style, the book offers the same information that would be found from doing factual research. It is possible for readers to verify for themselves should they want to do so. Be a good Berean! The subject matter and historical accuracy are the strongest assets of this book. If this material is new it may be challenging as well as enlightening though it is presented in a non threatening way. After reading the reviews of this book, I ordered quickly and counted the days until it arrived, anticipating a cracking good read! Though I thoroughly enjoyed it and appreciate the intent, I would have to also say that I was somewhat disappointed by the quality and style of writing and would not imagine it will reach the heights of best seller fame. My hope is that people who can benefit from the information provided will not be put off by this. The mode of time travel is a well established vehicle for fiction and screen play writers. (Fans of Focus on the Families "Odyssey" will recognize it from "Whit's End" stories.) I found the progression of the storyline very predictable, though it may be because I am familiar with the ways in which the Hebrew aspects of our Messiah have been "sanitized" or just assimilated into a western worldview. There is a sort of "self-consciousness" about the character's and their dialogue which seemed to me to be more like telling "about" them rather than "being" them.I might compare to Brown's DaVinci Code in that there is a similar attempt to bring the past to life in a way people today can take in. Brown was able to write a fast paced book that many recognize as entertainment, while weaving in both factual and speculative information. I suspect that even though some readers may not really have had an interest in the subject matter they were carried along by the pacing and strength of the writing style and plot. What I find distressing about this, is that too many people have difficulty discerning between entertainment and truth. Though not particularly interested in the subject matter, they may still be left with impressions that they now "know" what is really true. In Identity Theft, it is almost the reverse! The information is factual and presented in an entertaining way, but not quite as strong in style so as I wrote earlier, my hope is that those who expect something like DaVinci Code will still stay with it and absorb. There is so much to this story that yet needs to be told! I will be looking forward to more books from Ron Cantor and passing them on!

don't miss this one!
While the book is written in a fictional format, don’t let that fool you or distract you from discovering the nuggets of truth within the story. The fictional male character is a young Jewish man seeking to find the truth that will set his heart free. During a trip to a local coffee shop to write an article for his publication job, David’s life is abruptly interrupted. What an interruption! David is taken by angel to the past, the recent past and also way back to the first century. What unfolds before David is meant to provide scriptural answers to his questions as well as some history of the Jewish people/nation. When he returns to the coffee shop, not much time has passed; however, he isn’t the same person anymore. While questions were asked, answers were provided with only one more action needed to be taken that was a weighty matter.I was gripped by the fictional story to be sure, but more so by what I learned. It isn’t easy to put into words how my heart was both excited and troubled by some things I read. I was raised in a Roman Catholic family and it really wasn’t until the last couple of decades that I began to understand what I was taught and what the Bible teaches.I began in September 1980 to walk with Jesus as my Savior and my life has never been the same. The one discipline I was taught by my parents and am so thankful for was to always love learning. I wasn’t meant to ever stop or just let others tell me what to think or say. The other discipline I learned was to constantly read, which I do even to this day, along with learn. By the grace of God, both my sons also have captured the love of learning and reading.

5 stars isn't enough.....
Although "Identity Theft" was written for believers to further understand their Jewish roots, it was also written for me, a Jew.... Through a series of events that I can only describe as divinely orchestrated, and culminating in the reading of "Identity Theft," I have learned that Yeshua is my savior. For the first 47 years of my life, He was "stolen" from me, hidden away, as if I would somehow lose my identity as a Jew if I even considering lifting the veil from my eyes...In "Identity Theft," Ron Cantor does an incredible job of revealing the truth about the ongoing two-thousand year old conspiracy to separate Jews from Yeshua. As if that isn't enough, he also meticulously examines and uncovers numerous "Old Testament" (Tanakh) writings that clearly point directly to Yeshua. As a Jew, I wasn't going to believe anything about Jesus unless I first saw it in the Tanakh. While most Jews focus purely on the Torah (the first 5 books of the Bible), the entire Tanakh is considered the "Jewish" bible, by both Jew and Gentile alike....I believe that the Torah's predominance is because reading further into the Tanakh is "dangerous" to Jewish leadership, who want to keep the truth hidden. As far as I'm now concerned, Jesus is apparent starting in Genesis, and throughout the Torah. But these are subtle references that can easily be missed. However, further in the Tanakh ( especially Jeremiah and Isaiah), is where the reality of Jesus begins to become more obvious.I can't say enough about how much I love this book. I can't seem to hold onto it for very long, because I keep giving it away to friends, so I just keep buying more copies. This is a book for every Jew and every Christian to read, until everyone realizes that there is no difference between Jews and Christians. We are one and the same, in Jesus......

Very helpful read
Easy to read, in a modern day format. Really helpful for me to understand how Jewish, Christianity is! I knew Jesus / Yeshua was Jewish but the writer brought the characters 'to life'. He improved my Bible acquired knowledge and I am thankful for that.

Absolutely Amazing
Incredible book. I learnt so much from reading this book and I was encouraged so much in my faith. A must read for seasoned believers. Yet this is also a great book to give young Christians as the narrative also consolidates the truth and trustworthyness of the Christian faith. This is indeed a book for every Jew and every Christian to read. You can't read this and not be blessed! I have ordered another two copies to give to friends. And if you do have a Jewish friend, this is the book to give them. Thank you, author Ron Cantor, for opening my eyes to what I owe to the Jews. I'm still reeling from reading this!

A must for every Christian looking for the roots of our Faith.
I have been convinced since 1992 that the teachings of the Church over the centuries has veared away from Biblical truth. Ron has laid out in a wonderful order exactly what I always knew was correct. I am grateful to the Jews for revealing to me who my God is, for giving me His holy word and for giving me Yeshua, my Saviour and my Lord. Identity Theft has made this clear, I know this work will be a great help to any Christian irrespective of what level of understanding he/she is in. We must understand that the roots of the Christian faith are buried deep in Hebrew soil. I also am looking forward to volume two.Thank you Ron.

A book every believer must read.
As a keen bible student,I have discovered much of what the "church" teaches is not in agreement with scripture. The writer makes his points very clear, and supports what he writes with Bible quotes. If you believe "The truth shall set you free" then this is a book you should read
