Eating MREs is FUN and a great way to have emergency food.
I ordered these about 6 weeks ago and have gone through an entire A and B case. They were all fresh and sealed well. Contents were all in good shape. I have not had many MREs before other than a few given to me by friends in the service when I was younger. So getting to eat through the whole menu was fun. The entrees are all mostly like 5/10 but the snacks and desserts are all REALLY GOOD !! I was shocked at the quality of the snacks. The pound cake is so good and those choc chip cookies have me jonesing for more. The cheese and crackers was probably my favorite - I remember getting crackers from an MRE when i was a kid in the 80s and they tasted just like I remember. I initially bought 4 cases (2 A, 2B) and will be buying more to keep around for emergencies or road trips. I would keep them in a cooler if storing them in a car in the summer. Condiments/TP I'm no connoisseur but the coffee wasn't terrible - I don't use creamer so idk about that. There is sometimes even a tiny Tabasco bottle or a dehydrated hot sauce pack in there too! The TP is functional but you will want to stack and alternate sheets at 90 degree angles to make it usable. I wish I had access to these when I was in the Scouts. would have been way better to take with me on hiking and camping trips. At the current price (about $40/case) this works out to $3.33/MRE which is an insanely good price/calorie. The only thing to watch out for is the amount of sugar in the drinks. As a rather stagnant middle-aged guy I don't need a zillion empty calories like the young people who are out in the field burning a zillion cals a day in the sun. The chocolate "protein" drink is only 14g protein and 35g sugar. it's great and tastes like hot chocolate but you'll get the beetus if you OD on these.

Excellent product
This item is one of those items that the price fluctuates among sellers hugely! This company seems very well priced and you have the ability to choose the individual box (A or B). They arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Include everything they are supposed to include. For those not in the know - MRE's are the military rations. These are as issued though a little different from when I was last issued them. Meals change so you need to look at what meals you want and what package they can be found. Beware of the dates as they are NOT 20 year items but do hold up very well even over 5 years. The new versions have a food heater with them. I have traveled on airlines with them but, honestly, I don't know the rule with them as a carry on item and don't think they are legal in the check in bags though the military fly them around all the time without mishaps - and if you think airlines treat bags badly you should see what a mobility bag goes through! Flavor isn't bad though, of course, some are better than others. Why MRE's versus camping rations you can buy online or at most outdoor stores? Well, there are plus and minuses to each. I want to keep this short so recommend you search it but, basically, these are not dehydrated, include a heater of which you need to add water and you can heat it (we used to carry them against our body or put them on the engine block if available, this is much more elegant). The others are pure dehydrated and need water to rehydrate. Both, if buying from quality companies for the camping versions, are basically nutritious and packed with needed things like protein and calories. The latter tend to be lighter in weight but do not include a full "meal" that the MRE's contain. Weigh, pun intended, requirements versus needs versus wants versus room in your pack and weight you can carry and decide from there!

Quick shipment, authentic MREs
As others have mentioned, mine ended up arriving 4 days ahead of the scheduled date, which was a nice surprise.. The best by date on mine was 2026, though with air conditioned storage, I would expect them to stay good for a few years longer than that When I bought the price was $77 for 24, which works out to ~$3.20 a meal, which is an absurdly good price for what you get in the package. I ate one Menu 3 Chicken with noodles and vegetables just out of curiosity when mine arrived. Comes with a main, a flameless heater to heat it, crackers with peanut butter and jelly, applesauce, kool-aid adjacent beverage, instant coffee, seasoning and accessories, and candy (a full size Skittles package). The main is quite tasty in my mind, easily a similar quality or better than your average TV dinner, and with the extras its really so much for the price. I got mine to give myself a week or so of overhead in the case of an emergency situation, but at that price, I might get another case just to eat them as ready made meal

Exactly what you expect.
If you're buying these you probably already know what they are. Real deal military MRE's. I try to keep 2 cases on hand for the "just in case" situations. 2 REAL MRE's a day is probably more than enough for most average adults. Everything arrived in great shape, no issues with the product or seller. Obviously I haven't eaten them yet, but I'm sure they are fine since everything is sealed and the box is in perfect shape. If you havent bought these before - there's a lot of food in each meal kit. Enough to eat in 2 sittings if you split it up. I choose these over dehydrated because all the food is ready to eat. There's no prep needed. No portable stove, no gas or fuel, no pots or pans - and most importantly - keeping the worst possible situation in mind - you're not having to waste precious water to make food. Any water you have can be used for drinking. You don't even need to keep cups or utensils in mind (all in each kit) - and there's NOTHING to clean afterwards. I don't think many people keep that in mind, wasting more water by having to clean and reuse all your pots, pans, plates, utensils with other type of emergency meals. You only need water for the included chemical heaters (a tiny, tiny amount, but that's a luxury item, not a necessity. All food can be eaten as is) Powdered drink mixes are usually included - which come with their own plastic "bags" to be used as drinking containers. You're only adding drink mixes to water you'd be drinking anyway - not using "more water". Personally - I keep two cases of these and a 7 gallon gas can style plastic container (that has its own faucet/tap. That's important to be able to dispense water without accidentally spilling half of it out), filled with spring water. That means I can basically pick up and leave within minutes - without having to worry about food or water for like 2 weeks. Waiting out a minor disaster at home (which I've done once already for a week after a hurricane) is ALOT less stressful KNOWING you don't need food or a way to cook it. (Something to think about for everyone with electric stoves / electric water heaters at home. No stove or hot water to clean if power goes out for a week) After these have been sitting around for several years - I'll just start picking through them and order another case or two. Also - these have been great for me at work sometimes. Working for a utility company - if I get stuck on a job somewhere and I can't leave - or there is an emergency job somewhere, it's 3am and nothing is open nearby - I know I have 1 or 2 of these stuffed under the truck's passenger seat. A 20 hour workday waiting for other crews to finish before other people can even start is not uncommon for a lot of trade/labor jobs, and not something most people plan for everyday when leaving the house in the morning. These can help with that. Leave 2 in the work truck for yourself and a coworker- and you're good.. For me, just eating the entree alone is enough to get by for a few more hours, and I can still pick at the other stuff in one MRE package for hours afterwards. I mean - there's no good reason NOT to keep a case of these on hand - and you can't be the price when they sell for $40 a case (or a little less sometimes). Where else you gonna find a full meal kit, with drinks and snacks included - for $3 ??? If your trying to prep for the "most likely" minor disasters - these are a great choice.. Have food on hand for long night at work - great choice. If you're trying to prep for MONTHS or a YEAR - the dehydrated stuff would likely be a better - for their longer shelf lives. Just keep all that extra water in mind too.

Price increases are happening on these items
Real deal. Only it seems this seller is increasing the price over time. These do taste good and all parts are in tact and good. These do not have an indefinite shelf life, however. So renew your stock every few years!

The genuine article, look no further!
If you’re looking for genuine U.S. military MRE meals not only are these the real deal they’re fresh, outstandingly cheap and mine arrived incredibly quickly. I also found the meals very tasty, a lot more than I remember them being a long time ago. I did notice some confusion in a few of the reviews about the pack and inspection dates with some folks believing that they were lying on the box and getting much older meals that were just repackaged with just having a recent inspection date. Keep in mind a “best before” date does not mean an expiration date and that every individual MRE is stamped with its own pack date as well as the shipping box they arrive in. I purchased “Box A” (meals 1-12) which arrived with a pack date of 2265 (265th day of 2022) and an inspection date of 09/2025: Note that these are not an expiration date. These meals can be consumed for many years after the pack date (which is almost always 3 years prior to inspection), as long as kept in a cool and dry environment. The "pack date" is the manufacturing date, and the "inspection date" is a military date for reinspection, usually three years later. With these meals in particular having fairly recent inspection dates you can probably be safe to expect at least two years at a bare minimum before the contents begin to degrade depending of course on your storage environment and temperature. US military MREs like these can last from 3 to over 10 or more years, depending heavily on storage temperature. At an average temperature of 85F, they last about about 5 years, while storing them in cooler temperatures, around 60F, can extend their shelf life to 10 years or longer. Higher temperatures will significantly shorten their shelf life. Average MRE shelf life by temperature: - 100F: 6-9 months (or less) - 85F: 5 years (approximately 60 months) - 75F: 7-8 years (approximately 88-100 months) - 60F: 10+ years (over 130 months) Other factors and indicators: - Julian date code: Look for a four-digit code stamped on the individual MRE packaging for the pack date. The first digit is the year (e.g., “3” for 2023 or 2013), and the next three are the day of the year. For example a date code of “2053” would be the 53rd day of 2022. - Time and Temperature Indicator (TTI): Newer MREs have a TTI on the box (the red square), which has a circle graphic that changes color. If the inner circle is darker than the outer ring, the MRE has been exposed to conditions that have significantly shortened its shelf life. I hope this information helps clear up any confusion anyone may have, personally I could not be happier with my order from this seller and I will absolutely be buying more, probably the case A & B bundle next time for the best value. You just cannot beat the price, quality or shipping speed!

The military got this one right. More than enough. Good enough.
I have eaten four meals from Box "A". None of the food had gone bad an it was more than enough for a meal -- I think a meal and a half. I suspect you are meant to each the main item, a side item and the dessert and then pocket the snacks for later. I bought these because I am tired of eating fast food on road trips and these fit the bill -- cheap and easy. It's nice to eat them on a rest stop or in a motel room when I don't feel like going out and finding some place. At this price, quite a bit cheaper than fast food but it's the effort saving that's nice. I'll also eat these when my power goes out. I would not call these "delicious" -- but good enough. Think Chef Boyardee canned spaghetti quality. Most of the snacks, like crackers and peanut butter, are standard. Skittles. Something like "Tang." All super processed. Not great. But good enough. Plus you literally don't need anything else - no need to bring a fork or a plate or even a cup. If you have the pack, you have everything. The heating system is genius. All it takes is about a quarter cup water. I ate one of them on a cold hike up in the mountains and it was lovely. It's not stovetop hot. I'd rate it "cozy warm" I'm giving it five stars because it more than does the job. The military got this one right.
