Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters - Nintendo Wii

I was a little worried when I purchased this based on reading some of the reviews from others, but we have enjoyed this game. Here are the basics.Audience: I bought this for my 9 1/2-year-old son. He's into video games, but is not crazy about them. He plays them once every three to four days and then only for about an hour or so. He also loves superheroes and did his own research on this and wanted it. I also play it from time to time. However, neither of us are hardcore gamers. We'll play for a little while and then come back several days later, so it's very nice that the games have three profiles that can be saved.Platform: We bought it for the Wii and have had absolutely no problems. It loads fine, works well and the controls respond appropriately.Difficulty: Once you get the hang of it (when to recharge your health, how to scan for items, the best way to make certain constructs), it's easy enough to maneuver your way through the game. For the two of us who are not experienced gamers, the game continues to provide entertainment and has enough new items that it keeps us interested. In other words, this is fun for the inexperienced green lantern fan.Entertainment value: Good. As others have mentioned, this is a two-dimensional game, with the only directions being left or right or up and down. There is no depth to the game screen, so the graphics are fairly simple. It's fun to watch the constructs being made.Price: Is fine -- for less than $20, we've already gotten several hours of entertainment out of it, and my son has enjoyed "teaching" me how to play the game, while his little brothers have been cheering us on.Violence: is cartoon type violence. Robots and machines get blown up. No blood spurting anywhere. Lots of booms and crashes, but overall, it's pretty mild.Overall summary -- it's a fun game for the new Green Lantern fan, not hard for a person new to videogames and works well on the Wii console. We're looking forward to enjoying the rest of the game.

If you are looking for an action packed mentally involved game, this is NOT it.This game was fun for what it was. The Wii version is a simple play left to right kind of game. It's not super difficult and we had the entire thing beaten within a few hours. We were disappointed in it's simplicity, but we took it for what it was worth and enjoyed the game play.

The package came fast it was new not broken and a good price I couldn’t pass it up. I have a good collection of games and like to add on from time to time this was a steal and I decided to purchase it I’ve played it before but wanted in my collection…GOOD Game/GREAT Price everybody likes to play it!

He played it a few times then we traded it in with a few other games for minecraft which ended up broken (thank God,was sick of them fighting over the game) lol

My son was very pleased with his new game. I will start shopping from this retailer more often.

This game is terrible. Instead of providing information from other characters in the game via audio, everything is in text bars. I also found the animation to be poor to the extent that it seems like the game should have come out ten years ago. I bought this game for an 8 year old, who loves Green Lantern and the Avatar games and she was bored with it. If you think this game is something that would interest you, rent it first.
