There's a reason why this MD has so many 5-star reviews! Happy to report that I am very happy with my purchase. I'm a beginner metal detector and this is my first real MD. I had a "property marker finder" before - no bells, no whistles. I was drawn to all the 5 star reviews, the ferrous ratings, the depth indicator, and the various modes. Pros: Depth is fairly accurate. I have found TONS of clad coins and even some neat jewelry like tungsten and silver. It works very well! The more you use this MD, the more you'll pick up on the patterns (ex. dimes ring up 79-81, quarters 89-91...). I traveled with this by airplane - it fits well in checked luggage, comes apart easily, and is very lightweight. Sounds are clear and sharp. Easy to switch modes (I often swing in Jewelry mode then toggle back to All Metal to assess before digging). The digger is bad@ss! Heavy duty and always does the job. Cons: I didn't enjoy using this near the waterline at the coast. The loose sand was fine, but the saturated sand kept giving me false readings. Using the built-in pinpointer drains the battery quickly. Conductivity numbers aren't always perfectly accurate (ex. some coins ring in a mix of low + high tones). I don't use the arm strap; not very comfortable IMO. The headphones can feel a little snug by the end of the day of wearing them. I really dislike juggling the headphones cable with my bag, pinpointer, digger, etc. (even though the cable is long and generous); next MD I buy will be wireless headphones. Finally, for what it's worth, I am female, 5'2" and in my 40s. Ladies, if you're looking for a lightweight, height-adjustable MD that is great for a beginner, this is a great machine. It's light enough that I can swing for hours and a ton of fun! I carry the digger and my separate pinpointer in my hand when I hunt; someone thought I was carrying a knife which I actually kinda like! Hunting alone can be risky so I like that the digger gives off "don't mess with me" vibes. :)

I bought this for my son on his birthday. He had been asking for one so i took the time to shop around. This product had good reviews and seemed like a fair price. I figured if he liked using it this model would last for a while. The price point seems kind of mid range for whats on amazon but then again i dont know anything about metal detectors. It was easy to assemble, it powered on and off he went. He has found some old tent poles that got buried in a storm so i know it works. This is easy to use and does say it is for adults but the kids had no problem picking it up. It can find a multitude of metals and gives you a symbol of the type of metal that my have been found. The reason its a four star may be a little nitpicky but you have to keep the instruction book to look up what the symbols mean unless you have a really good memory or use it a ton, but we have to pause and look up what it says is there.

So far the device is light and easy too setup the middle locking screw peice is cheap made will cross thread easy but other than that its good for 6-7yr up too beginners I'm enjoying the product would love too review more and move my hobby forward did find a 1949 wheat penny day after receiving

We have not yet tried this out but are excited to do so. It looks well made and we are hoping to have many fun times exploring and finding treasures.
