Versitle, professional, sturdy
This is perfect for gathering and centralizing all the USB and other power plugs for today's home theatre. More and more people are moving from intgrated compenets to distributed low power components for increased flexibility and low cost versus starting all over. This is perfect for centralizing all 120 VAC power taps and works well with/or without the rack.

Electricity goes in one place & comes out ten others
As with many simple mechanical products, there’s not much for me to say here. Like my silly title: the electricity goes in one spot and comes out a bunch of others (if you plug things in there; no lightning bolts).I have no opinion about, nor tools to measure, the electricity that comes out of it, so I cannot rate it for noise or whatever. Heck, I didn’t even check to make sure every socket was wired correctly with an outlet tester. Shame on me. If I do, I’ll try to remember to update the review.I’m sure the joint on the safety cover over the power switch would wear out with a lot of use, but I’m hoping I won’t need to use it a lot. The switch works. It’s used to stop vampire loads wasting electricity. The build seems good. So far, I would buy more of these (I might, actually, buy another; my “studio” seems to never have enough electrical outlets). It could stand to have at least two sockets on the front. It’s odd that most rackable power strips are made with ALL the sockets on the FRONT. That’s why I chose this one: it’s the unit you get if you want all the clutter BEHIND the desk. Still, two sockets up front would be an added convenience, but the price was right for this one, and the more “convenient” rack strips were also more expensive. As others have said in their reviews, this product is not shipped in a proper shipping carton. It comes in an unprotected (no packing materials) basic manufacturer’s product box (low profile plain brown cardboard). Luckily, mine did NOT come damaged. I don’t know why Amazon ships these things in this way. They’re probably hurting themselves with returns due to shipping these without proper packing. The manufacturer should redesign their packaging so that it secures and protects the product. Then the pickers at Amazon’s warehouses wouldn’t need to pack it in another carton, which they already don’t do (probably because they don’t know they should).

Home setup
I have a rack for my personal use. I already have a rack mount power strip but I ran out of space. I like this model because it has outlet in the back and front In case I run out of space again. It’s well built while still being compact. Not noisy. I like the switch cover that prevents to unintentionally powering it on/off. Just make sure to look at the outlet position, depending on the what you have to power, you may need one with outlet going the other way.

Good price, good product, poor packaging
The price is good, the amount of outlets and Joule protection are good too, unfortunately my unit arrived with one of the rack mounting tabs warped out of shape. The box it came in is extremely flimsy, I was lucky it was packed into another box with something else I ordered because this box on it's own would have not survived the shipping. I can see where the original box was damaged causing the mount to be bent. All outlets work though I have not had a chance to test them with a ground meter yet. A few screws and bolts for mounting would have been nice but these are not included. The design is fairly solid, it's metal but a soft metal that allows bending of the mounting tabs pretty easy (so I was able to bend it back the way it should be with my hands). The spacing between the outlets on the back is great for use with adapters (routers, firewalls, weird shaped plugs). The power button is covered with a plastic cover. While a nice touch, it seems like it was not part of the original design and slapped on afterwards. It's very thin so probably won't survive very long if you use it often. It also makes the overall design look cheap as it really takes away from the solid matte black design. The 3 LED lights (Power, Ground, Surge // Orange, Green, Red) are nice but the power LED is ridiculously bright!! The Ground and Surge LED's are a subtle matte glow but the Power LED can light up a small room (I tested this). There is no reason for it to be this bright specially since the power button itself has an LED in it too.I'll adjust this review once I test every outlet with a ground meter and a heavy load. Overall it will do what it needs to do, is very compact (depth) and the long (thick and sturdy) power cord is nice too. Packaging needs to be addressed as does the choice in Power LED.Update: Went from a 3 star to a 4 star rating. Started a chat with Amazon to say the unit was damaged. I was offered a replacement unit or a $10 partial refund. I went for the $10 to save me the hassle. This now made the product/price more awesome so I recommend contacting Amazon support if your unit arrives (or has arrived) damaged. Smooth support from Amazon.

Very nice rack power distribution unit (PDU)
Overall, awesomely engineered. No complaints other than adding some switched power banks would have been better. Given 10 outlets and 5 receptacles, 5 switches would have been ideal. The other thing that could be changed is to make the power cord detachable. 15’ is quite long and is likely overkill for most people. Being able to swap for an alternative NUMA cable of similar gauge would be preferable. This product is ideal for use in conjunction with a UPS as it is does not provide any surge protection or line conditioning, which would be provided by the UPS. Using surge suppression inline with a UPS invalidates the battery warranty and can cause problems with the load and consumption calculations.Highlights——————- This product uses 14 AWG wire to connect each power receptacle from the back pressure locking holes.- Grounded to case with 14 AWG wire for proper protection. I have seen other Chinese products cut costs by using thinner gauge, sacrificing safety.- Full metal (coated steel) case. Very durable.- Receptacles are of good quality with tight fitting outlets.
