Bought one of these after shelling out $250 for a replacement control panel for my water softener. I've had it for two years and haven't noticed any deterioration Keeps the rain off my unit and reduces the amount of dust and debris that finds its way into the salt canister.

The material is very thin and offers very little insulation but it does fit nicely over the water softener unit

The material is very thin. The purpose of this cover is to protect our water softener from the elements outside. I hardly doubt that this will last more than one Summer in Florida. For the price. I decided to not take that risk. If your unit requires removing the lid to add more salt -- This cover does not have a section to unzip. The whole cover will need to be removed.

This cover is nice tan on outside & reflective silver on the inside. I live in Florida & wanted a little sun-protection for the 2 tanks from the brutal, unrelenting FL sun.
