Blade is highly polished stainless. Arrived well sharpened. Stainless is thick. Handle is what I like, durable composite. Exceeded my expectations. I can choke up on the grip to use single handed, or can use both hands on the grip for two handed swinging. Feels great. Well balanced. Sheath is cheap but I don't care. I highly approve of the sword and recommend it if it fits your needs.

Surprisingly decent! Heavy and a good work out tool. The scabbard is a little lacking but functional. Over all I'm pleased. And that's saying something as I'm hard on non authentic. It's tests have included clearing brush and shrubs lol.

I never thought I could get a quality sword like this for this amount of $, it’s a bit heavy but other than that it’s awesome!, I have purchased three more blades all different and cant wait to get them. This is the sharpest blade I have, this is not a toy.

If you are looking for a great katana without breaking the bank, congratulations! You need to look no further. This is the best you will get at this price, it's better than some 3-4 hundred dollar swords that are made of a lesser steel. The sheath is wood not plastic like some have said, there is a plastic collar that is fit well with the sheath and protects it. Don't waste your money on something else you'll just come back and wish you would have bought this sword. Just add to cart.

I'm going to try to be as thorough as I can, I waited a while after receiving this sword before reviewing. First the saya, or scabbard. the saya is not plastic, as said in other reviews, it is made out of somewhat decent and durable wood for the price, but has a plastic fittings at the mouth and knob (which gives the initial impression the whole saya has a plastic casing, hence earlier reviews). Neither the leather chord or the cloth are wrapped very tight, the leather is cheap and lightly glued to the saya, and you can't expect the cloth to be 100 percent cotton, I can tell it's plastic based. But the saya, when it comes down to it, is tough and fits the sword very nice, just short of too snug. The katana is almost, if not, about a pound heavier than the average katana. It's hilt isn't that bad, it fits in the hand nice and adds more control and power to kendo style use, but I can't tell for the life of me how it's attached without taking it apart, but I do think it's glued or much less likely welded. The handle is an inch or two shorter than most katanas and the blade is an inch or two longer. The groove is fine, and the sword when correctly swung is very audible. You have to have a well toned arm to *actually* be able to use this with one arm, sorry fantasy geeks. Anyone who calls this sharp hasn't handled a real edge, very factory knife style edge not meant for katanas, and an obviously machined blade; just like all the waki reviews. The offset tsuba is secure and kind of nice, it fits the swords profile well but it's more of a preference whether you like how it looks or not. The handle is quite hard, I didn't expect a sword to have a soft handle and it's illogical to think it would. I did, and recommend, cloth wrapping the handle, it adds grip area and helps accommodate for the weight. There is a tiny give between the blade and the handle, I can hear it tick lightly when swung a certain way but I expect I could hit a brick wall with this thing and blade would break beyond use before any of the handle came undone, semi-heavy duty bolts instead of pins holding it together. In summary, very possibly the most durable manufacture katana for under 200 dollars, tactical or traditional style. Don't expect anything truly authentic however, minus the leather.

This sword is fabulous, and is diffenately battle ready. It is very sharp, well made, exquisite really if you are looking for a utilizable sword.

The balance isn’t horrible as others have said. Yes this is not a traditional katana but it was never meant to be. Its more of a heavy brute. Its durable, reasonably sharp out of the box and looks great. The v cut edge is not what you want in a traditional katana but this things weight may be better suited for this kind of edge. You won’t find much better in its class.

The blade is sharp and well balanced and has great weight but the Sheth adds gunk onto the blade witch I can not get off

Bought this for my husband. He has wanted a sword for a long time, he saw this one and said it looked really good. Once we got it, he fell in love. Its not too light, nice holder.

just a gorgeous design. Love the style and appearance of the Katana. It's great, displayed alongside a real one, for a modern twist on a traditional sword. I don't do cutting exercises, but it looks extremely solidly built, and I imagine it would hold up well.

I'm working on buying all their products because they are a step beyond all others and continue to make me happy. Oh yeah and the katana"s excellent.
