Authentic Alkaviva Ultra Water Filter

Arrived on time and filtered the water as expected.

Great filter, lasts a really long time. Be sure to preset the gasket and fitting before installing as it will leak. This could be my unit but like with oil filters on cars, better if prefabricated.

I have a Venus water ionizer and it tells me when to change the filter. Two adults on city water have been using this brand "Alkaviva Ultra Water Filter" since March 22 2016 for our drinking water and now on July 2019 the Venus signals that I need to change the filter. That's over 3 years. I think that's pretty good. I've read a lot about fluoride about fluoride and I don't want it. From what I've read fluoride displaces calcium in the bones making them weaker.

Since I first purchased my ionizer a few years ago, I have studied more in detail water treatment. In the meantime, I have moved to more sophisticated reverse osmosis multi-stage water filtering + remineralization and pH adjustment.Besides discovering that alkaline water is more a myth than a medical fact (but this is a separate issue), it is an objective fact that US$109 for a single filter (which may remove a good part of chlorine and correct the taste, but for sure cannot significantly work on sediments (unless you use in conjunction with another sediment filter) and TDS (total dissolved solids) clearly is a ripoff.Too expensive for a not-so-efficient filter in terms of water purity. That said, in case it is used with water that is not already drinking-grade ready, how effective (or harmful) can it be?After my long long study of many years on how to have the best water at home, consider "GOOD" Reverse Osmosis, which alkaline water indoctrinated advocates (I once was one of them) normally consider to be evil.

This filter is manufactured by AlkaViva LLC, and has 3rd Party certifications with warranty. However, depending on the quality of water entering the filter, longevity of unit can vary widely. To protect the unit, particularly in hard water areas, a pre filter is necessary to capture sediment and other particulates. I have had great success with my unit and this was recommended to me by AlkaViva. Well water would definitely need it! Hope this help!

cost is way to much but nothing else available.

I bought this product and it broke a seam almost right away. Didn't bother to exchange or return it because went away for awhile and forgot. Do not buy.
