Criterion Goofed: 24fps instead of 25 / See it someway, anyway.
Wonderful Fassbinder series. No issue there. But there is one in the way Criterion mastered this at 24p instead of PAL standard 25fps as it was originally shot (on 16mm). As a result fifteen or so minutes longer than it should in order to make up the difference. There are technically sound ways of mastering Blu-rays to preserve the 25fps of the original work, as Arrow Films has done with their Blu-ray edition of 'Eight Hours.' One would have expected Criterion to follow this mastering process, but they goofed.3 stars for the lovely artwork on the Criterion. If you can justify the price, grab the Arrow edition instead.

Captures so much of life and people.
Another brilliant piece of work by Fassbinder. Captures actors who one could easily mistake for Real people. This one is a gem.
