Organic Chaga Mushroom Powder (Chaga Tea) from Siberia 100gr/3.52oz, Premium Quality, Wild Harvested, Raw and Organic | by Siberian Green Food

I've tried a lot of Chaga by now, perhaps a dozen different ones. I usually judge the quality of the chaga by the effects it provides me with, which is a bit of an uplifted mood and an increase in creativity in my thought processes as I contemplate my various writing projects.The other factor I judge it for is how easy it is to make; how much straining is involved, and how much "residue" remains in the bottom of the cup after I do a single straining with just a 4" mesh coffee filter (nylon or gold plated) rather than the "double straining" I do by following that with pouring the initial strain through a larger strainer lined with a 12" square of thick muslin cloth to filter out the finest particles.I steep the Chaga for 5 minutes in 180 degree water to ensure all of the potency is retained ( as boiling water will break down some of the active components), then put it in a blender for about 10 seconds to help break down the softened material and extract whatever may still be able to be extracted, before straining it. Depending on the fineness or coarseness of the powder determines if it requires a double straining or if a single straining will do. Of course, it takes less time and effort to prepare if it only requires a single straining before adding my coffee and cream to it, which I prefer.I tried this one because it was "from Siberia", while the other Chaga I've tried has either been from Canada or Maine. I figured there may be something in the ground or in the air that may produce a difference in potency, and being open to adventure and a bit of experimentation I thought I'd give it a try.While it is a good quality Chaga as far as the potency is concerned, and does provide for an uplifted mood as well as enhanced creativity in ones thought processes, this Chaga is the very finest powder of all the Chaga I've tried so far. The first time I tried it, there remained what looked like a thick layer of mud at the bottom of the large cup (24oz) I use to initially steep it in before pouring it into the blender. I had to pour some of the brew back into the cup and swirl it around before quickly pouring it back into the blender to keep it in suspension.With this one, after a single straining, there was quite a bit of residue remaining at the bottom of the cup when I finished my coffee, which kept me from savoring that last swallow. So, this one always requires a double straining, taking an additional 5 minutes (15 minutes total) to prepare for me, with the process I use.So, yes, it's good quality, and has good potency. It's a finer powder than others I've tried, but it it certainly is offered at a good price, being about half what other Chaga sells for at around $10 for 3.5ox, which was another factor in this particular purchase as I had run out prior to the beginning of the month when my funds come in.
