Gege Mini : Style A Japanese Doll, Blonde, 6" (Amazon Exclusive)

This is a real cutie of a doll. I like her sweet expression very much. And I love the fact that she sucks her thumb. Her hair is cute and she fits into my collection of Japanese dolls in this category. I will be looking for others like her because I am very satisfied with her quality. She is a good remake of an older Japanese doll especially with the style of painted eyes. I really enjoy looking at her in my collection and I like her chunkiness and poseability.

Dreamy eyes that look realShoes come on and off. She is worth every penny, Lovely Manga design. Considering the doll is so small, the clothes are well made and not cheesy. I plan to collect a lot more of these dolls.Oh, I especially like her sucking her thumb!

I gave the Gege Mini Japanese Doll to my teenage daughter and she loves it. It's absolutely adorable and it reminds her of the work of Studio Ghibli. My daughter is a fan of Japanese culture and is a prolific manga-style artist. So you can imagine her enthusiastic response to this big-eyed doll that has all the hallmarks of Japanese style characterization.It's a cute package that comes in a nicely designed box. It also includes a sizable attached tag that provides information about Midori, the designer. It's a throwback 1970s doll design and has been revived for a modern audience. My teenage daughter was instantly smitten with the doll and intends to keep it among her collectibles as she sees it as a special keepsake piece.The cute 6 inch doll stands on her own wearing cute removable shoes. Her expression is one of enthusiasm and curiosity echoed by her hand positions. Her hair feels real and actually reminds me (and my daughter) of how her own short, fine blonde hair used to be. The hat is fun as is her cute little pink dress that's adorned with lace. The pink/red color motif makes for an adorable doll and won over my daughter's heart.If you're curious about Gege dolls but are not sure which one to get, I highly recommend the 6 inch variety. It's a cute addition to my daughter's room, but my wife likes it too as it's a joyful doll that looks sweet on any shelf. This Gege Mini : Style a Japanese Doll, Blonde, 6", is a remake of the Japanese 70's doll- Mademoiselle Gege, created by famous Japanese Doll Designer Midori in 1972. This new remake of Gege has the same adorable face- the typical 70's Japanese painted doll eyes, button nose, pouty small mouth with the addition of a few freckles. Her light blonde hair is styled in a typical 70's face framing style and is brushable.Her red plastic shoes are removable as are her clothes- red pants, a lace trimmed pink polka dotted top with brown polka dotted bow and a beige canvas looking summer cap trimmed with a red ribbon and red and black fabric feathers. What makes the original Midori dolls so special are the personalities they have and happily they kept those personalities with these remakes. This adorable little Gege sucks her thumb. You may have to bend the arm with her thumb out a bit towards the doll before inserting her thumb, so it will stay in her mouth. This adorable, charming little Gege is a 5 STAR doll, just like the originals were back in 1972.

This is a super cute 6” doll with classic anime features. She can stand but (at least mine) cannot sit independently, mostly because of the size of the head. The doll I have cannot sustain the thumb sucking posture without it being held in place. The hair on mine is a little ratty and badly cut in the back.Those nit picky things aside, she is very cute and cheerful looking. Great expression. Wonderful for fans and collectors.

It is brilliant buy when on sale, good quality stuff. Not really great for kids, actually better for adults as decoration!
