Bought this for a bare spot in my lawn. Very easy to put down. I used a couple inches of top soil first. It started to grow, then just up and died. I followed instructions to the letter. Not worth it!

Came in the mail quickly and was rolled up in a nice package. I laid the roll down on an area in my back yard and also laid out some seed from the local Home Depot about 3 weeks ago. The Patch N Repair has an obvious head start compared to the regular seed. So far I am happy with this product. My only problem is the fact that I cant keep my dogs from playing on my newly planted seed :(

I’m only a week in with this product, so I haven’t seen any real results yet. I did like the ease of placement and how it settles as you water it. We haven’t had any rain in a week, so I am hitting it lightly 3x a day.

This was basically just colored paper that you roll out on the ground. It won’t stay in one spot and it doesn’t cover much ground. It didn’t really help with growing grass. It would be better just to plant seeds.

I was not sure about this project but it actually works. What I did not think about it the fact that there are different types of grass, so make sure you are buying the type of grass you have. I really did not care once it filled in, it was green and there was no open patch and I can fill in for next season with the right type of grass. It looks weird, like putting paper towels on the ground and watering them, but it actually works.

I wanted to use this product to repair damage by plow in the winter. If there is any spot of natural grass left when you put it down it won’t grow well. When the grass grows it lifts up this product. It must be very evenly applied to level soil. Regular reseeding worked mush better for me.

I actually was not expecting this to work so I bought the smallest roll in order to waste the least amount of money. There isn't a whole lot of this on a small roll, but it's great for a trial run. I put some good soil down first, laid this stuff out, and then watered it two or three times a day for a week, and lo and behold I actually have green grass where I've tried forever to get grass seed to grow. I think the trick is watering a few times a day. We had days in the 90's right after I laid this out, plus I sort of mutilated it by having the water pressure too high for the first watering ( a mist or light sprinkle is better), but still this stuff persevered. Like I said, I am as surprised as anyone else, but it actually worked for me. May buy some more for another area, but need to get more dirt first because having some good top soil may make a difference as well.

I have a slope in my yard where I needed to plant grass. Traditional grass seed will be washed away during rain. I hoped this mat would stay in place. However, the mat is pretty fragile in my opinion. When it rained, the mat disintegrated and washed away. Full disclosure, Ohio is experiencing pretty heavy rains this June. But still, it washed away for me and didn't work...
