If you are someone who is in ok physical condition with no back or spine issues, the utility of this product may be minimal.I run a mixed martial arts gym with a number of competitive fighters. Core work outs are a huge part of their conditioning. Many core exercises put strain on the lower back when that is not the muscle group they wish to focus. For doing sit ups, leg raises, crunches, and similar exercises, the power core ab mat allows for a great amount of repetitions. I let 2 of my amateur fighters use this for the last few weeks and they all said it allowed them to execute a great amount of crunches in particular.For my non competitive members, while they said it made such exercises more comfortable, they wouldn't see themselves needing one. I just completed my 1st workout with my new POWER CORE AB EXERCISE MAT. We have different brands of ab mats at the gym that I have used regularly over the years so I am very familiar with their use. I got this one to use at home but I brought it with me to test on site at the gym rather than at home. I wanted to make sure I was using it under the most realistic conditions for comparison purposes (ie - on site rather than in my living room floor)This ab mat comes in a variety of logo colors, which is a fun option (I chose blue). It is great quality, well made and a bit on the firm side. I didn't think I was going to like that firmness but my 1st workout with it changed my mind completely. I have been doing CrossFit for 6 years; most of what we do in the gym is for speed. An ab mat protects your back/spine and allows you to have leverage when doing sit ups. The firmness actually ended up being a bonus! The firmness gave me a BIG boost in my speed because I was not "sinking" into the mat like I do with the standard inventory of mats at my gym. I flew through all the sit ups in my workout much faster than I normally would. Now I plan on keeping my mat at the gym in my cubby so I can use my own personal mat with every workout instead of the ones provided by my gym. Very satisfied with this product!!

I like to think that my core workouts are helping to bring out my 8 pack, but those who know, know that “Abs are cooked in the kitchen”. Even if you eat a perfectly clean Live-It, you will still want to work your core – and Epitomie Fitness has provided a great tool in The Power Core Ab Exercise Mat.I ordered The Power Core Ab Exercise Mat from Amazon.com a few weeks ago and have been using it for my core workouts a few times a week. It’s going to be some time before I actually start seeing results, but I could feel results almost immediately (my abs were really sore the day after I first used The Power Core Ab Exercise Mat). Epitomie Fitness provides an illustrated exercise card to use with the Power Core mat. It includes seven different exercises and suggests picking 4 for each workout, doing 3 sets of 10-12 reps each. I suggest building on that as you can.When using the mat, you put it flat on the floor at the small of your back to give you different angles to work your core muscles using exercises like sit-ups, crunches, leg extensions, double crunches, reverse crunches, bicycle crunches and jack knifes.The Power Core Ab Exercise Mat does really well at helping to target the different ab muscles and achieves different angles that you could ever get doing the same exercises on the floor or a flat bench. It does take a bit of time to get used to using this device, but virtually right away it is easy to tell that it will help work different parts of muscles and angles not usually worked.You can get The Power Core Ab Exercise Mat on Amazon on sale for $19.97 (marked down from $35.99) with Prime delivery (I received mine the same day I ordered it). This Ab Mat is made of very high quality materials, and will likely last a long time. I am used to using the original AbMat that is found in many Crossfit gyms. I figured that this would be a good equivalent, had great reviews, and is a good price. However, its fatal flaw is that it's too hard for its height. I can't do sit-ups with proper form, but rather see-saw on top of it. Given the obvious quality of this mat, I really wanted to find a way to make it usable. I tried several times to find a workable position. Tried stepping on it a bunch of times, and letting my kids step on it, to try and break it in, with no luck. In the end, I ordered an original AbMat, and found it much better. I recommend that one instead.

The Ab Mat has been an integral part of my home CrossFit workouts during lockdown, as I am without a pull up bar of which I would typically use for knee raises. The Ab Mat has allowed me to vary the abdominal exercises that I’ve been doing and as a result I’ve seen a big improvement in my core strength.
