Much better quality than any home door nob. It is worth it to replace some frequently used nobs with this handle. It will last forever. I got stuck at late night with a Kwikset nob and replaced with this the next day. Problem solved without need of a locksmith!After I bought another Schlage Grade 2 lock from Lowes and installation of that lock. I can say Dynasty is definitely more hardware for the same price I paid. I used Dynasty for metal doors with tight insulation since they come with the cast iron plate that can be screwed or through bolted up and down to be completely secured to the metal door with longer levers to pull it with ease.

The handle seems pretty sturdy and relatively mechanically simple on the inside, compared to other handles I've installed, but boy are the installation instructions very difficult to follow despite really not being very many steps. I bought this to replace a Schlage commercial handle that lasted 20 years in a very high traffic area, and it installed perfectly without needing to drill any new holes, which was nice. I won't know if it holds up for another decade or so, hopefully, but it seemed durable when I put it together, everything fit together nicely when it was done. My handle was a passage, so I can't speak to the quality of any lock mechanisms. The only really notable item is that it's a much lower profile, in terms of how far it sticks out of the door, than almost any other handle of its type that I've used, which does take some getting used to, but will probably help it's durability in the long run, since it'll have less leverage against it during use. Overall would consider buying again, though perhaps not for such a high traffic area as that low profile makes it a bit harder to open than I would have preferred.

Needed to replace a locking handle on a classroom door at our church. This was an identical replacement visually, and a reasonable price. The install we perfectly, taking less than 15 minutes. Nice to get something that work right the first time. Be sure to select the correct locking type when purchasing. "Classroom" works different from "storeroom" or some of the others.

The instructions recommended through bolts, but I did not use them as it's a low use lock. You can get a good squeeze on a steel door without them. The screws have serrations in them to prevent them from backing out, so if you detect grinding, it's probably just doing its job.Follow the instructions exactly, particulary on mounting the lock key lever. If you try to wing it, the lock won't work right. Rotate the lock clockwise 90 deg with one hand and insert the lever with the key with your other hand. Took me a couple times.The levers have some play in them, so not super high quality. It's a value lock at a value price. It won't beat the true pro brands in fit and finish, however.

I ordered this for my new exterior door on my home. Nice lockset. I have a commercial lockset on my garage but I didn't install it. I decided against it for my house as I thought it was too excessive plus the difficulty. If you need a super duty lockset and have experience with these kind of locks, I would get it. It looks like very good quality.

Exactly as described. Super easy to install. A monkey could do it. Seems stronger than residential hardware.
