The people's gi. Silky smooth, sharp, snappy, stylish and comfortable. WKF Approved. After ripping yet another karate gi, Jesse Enkamp - karate blogger and self-titled "karate nerd" - discussed with his buddy why there was no better karate uniform out there. It seemed like most karate uniforms on the market weren't made for "regular" karate people who trained hard and enjoyed to sweat! Having tried tons of brands during his years as instructor, never being fully satisfied with the feeling, function, form, fabric, cut or style - they decided something had to be done. It was time to make a new gi: by karate people, for karate people. "The People's Gi". And so it began... In a hard quest for reverse engineering the "ultimate" karate gi, the journey went to Okinawa - the birthplace of karate - where samples and ideas were collected of what worked (and what didn't work), through meeting living legends and grandmasters of the art. Gradually, a new kind of gi took shape. The Seishin Gi. A gi forged in the timeless fire of Okinawa's karate spirit. The project finally led to an online crowdfunding campaign, where 7 730 visitors from 73 countries quickly made the Seishin karate suit a reality through their amazing support for this unique innovation of Okinawa. Seishin was a smash hit! In just a few weeks, 27 130 had been raised - proving the fact that people all around the world had longed for a new kind of karate gi based on the passion, knowledge and trust of real karate practitioners - just like them. The rest, as they say, is history. Today, Seishin is growing faster than ever. With innovation, tradition and teamwork being the three cornerstones upon which the Seishin vision rests, karate people around the world are discovering that there is such a thing as a "better" karate gi now. The era of outdated karate brands deciding how you should enjoy karate is over! It's time for Seishin.

Comfortable, Light and Great Gi!
I am 6' 2" tall, weigh around 235lbs size 190CM, White WKF Approved Gi. Seishin Gi quality is superb, light weight and strong (canvas like). I had this Gi since July 2019. I have washed it in cold water and hang dry (never goes in the dryer!) at least once a week since. So far, the Gi holds up quite well except it gets wrinkled after hang dry. The wrinkle goes away somewhat after you wear and work out in it. The whiteness of Gi still holds up just OK. Is it worth having as a first GI that is lightweight and sturdy? Yes, it is. I would agree the price should go down just a little unless they made it much thicker. It is excellent for Kata and belt test. I have another Gi that is less expensive, thicker and heavier as I could see differences in quality. Seishin is a much better fit for me than this other brand. Try this Gi, you may not be disappointed except you might be disappointed that you did not get it in the first place.

Good karate gi but scuffs easily
The gi feels like a light weight, but acts like a heavy weight - just as its designers intended. It's comfortable to wear for kihon, kata, and LIGHT sparring. This gi is designed for light use only. Not grappling, throws, self-defense, or anything else.It scuffs very easily. I've worked out in my gi about 10 times and I'm disappointed with how easily its looks worn. Just having a partner grab my gi to demonstrate a move or even something as benign as stretching on the ground or just kneeling on the mats has caused wear marks.A bit disappointing for a gi made of "premium selected cotton" and designed for international level competition.

Fit Function
The only reason I did not give 5 was the price. I'm a big guy 6'4" 260 pounds, I was worried about how the of the paints would fit based on other reviews, on how high they came up, but I did not have this issue and actually like the way the pants stayed in place throughout my training. It fit great out of the bag and GI stayed place during 3 hours of testing and training better than other GI I have worn.

Probably not worth the price
For the price it is ok. I mean it is a high quality gi but the waste band slides under my obi and that intern starts pushing them down and pushes the obi up. The gi top fits great, but the pants get very uncomfortable if you ever have to stretch, bend, or sit because of the waste band issue. They may fit better on others, but I am 6'3" 250lbs and the pants do not fit as well as I would like. Both of my Punok Gi fit much better

I went with a men's 165 and I like the cut and fit
I went with a men's 165 and I like the cut and fit. No alterations needed, which isawesome since I usually have to alter sleeves and hem by many inches, even withtournament cut gi. I like the high waist and did find that I dont have to hike up my pants forhigh kicks...nice! Pricing has gone up since the initial release but when comparing otherquality gi, I think this is in the same range and is worth buying. Im mostly going to use thisfor kata, but I think you could kumite comfortably in this.

Excellent product!
Pants a little short and low rise.Shirt fits perfectly for my size “5”Pants are designed to be worn high waist but Mine essentially can only be worn on the hips. Length is just fine the pants inseam sits low calf, high ankle and overall look of a perfect KATA uniform.Quality of fabric, cut and design are impeccable and this is a very “COOL LOOKING GI !!!”

Excellent quality
Lighter than the unobtainable heavyweight gi's my son is used to wearing, a very good replacement with nice venting.

The seishin gi's are top quality! They are amazing to train in and once you've worn one you won't want to go back! only complaint is that while everything fit perfectly (sleeves, pants etc.) the bottom flap was extremely long going almost past my knees. Feels a bit awkward, but I will get it fixed up. I won't use any other gi after wearing this.

Beat my expectations.
Best gi i’ve ever worn. Light and breathable but still has snap. It looks like a mid-heavyweight gi when worn. Doesn’t stick to skin, doesn’t bind at all. Holds it’s form nicely.I am 6’3” and 180lbs. I ordered the 190. Fits perfectly.I will definitely buy another.

So far so good.
Really comfortable , match my expectations after watching all those YouTube reviews. Now I am just watching the wear and tear before being able to recommend it with no doubts. Love the GI pants, easy to get to Shiko Dachi and kicking around.

The best gi I've ever had!
I've been doing martial arts for about 30 years. This is by far the best gi I have ever worn. It is worth the money. It was extremely thought though when then designed it. A+
