Delicious! (A 3AM appreciation babble)
Even decaf coffee makes me suffer. My mother-in-law introduced me to chicory coffee one night when we went out to get cookies on a whim and wanted to pair a hot beverage with it. She brewed some ground chicory she had on hand and I found it nice, although pretty sour like how some coffee can get, and rather heavy on the earthy notes and texture. Despite that experience, it got me hooked in the idea of being able to resort to a non-caffeinated and somewhat familiar comfort beverage, so I looked around and found this product.Just, wow. The smell when I opened the jar was amazing. I could not resist and had to make a cup. This product is way smoother than brewed ground chicory, and way less sour. I can just get lost in its various pleasant flavor profiles. It also curbed my strong urge to snack (I'm writing this review at 3am lol). I used 1/2 tsp of this thing in 3/4-ish cup of hot water. That alone tasted great, and mildly sweet. But I was feeling like having a weak mocha, so I put in a bit of unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 40% heavy whipping cream, and a touch of Hershey's syrup (yeah roast me!). Very minimal sugar content in the entire thing. It was /very/ satisfying. I honestly can't wait to do it all over again tomorrow (well, later today). It is not coffee, of course. I like this experience regardless; no use comparing it to other stuff and complaining "It's not the same!" in various creative and exasperating ways.Coffee purists who are looking to fill the void would probably not enjoy this if they approach it in that manner. I do empathize, as I have similar issues with other things in life. So, if you do try it, keep an open mind! For others who casually enjoy coffee and can't tolerate caffeine, hey try a jar out! This is coming from someone who also has a sweet tooth and a somewhat picky eater.I don't write product reviews often, if not at all. I hope that speaks enough of how much I like this stuff. Thank you for making a thoughtful product, especially because it's so convenient to work with and I need less stressors in my life at the moment. It gives me comfort and something to look forward to. Hope you don't stop making this stuff!

Love the Flavor it Adds to My Morning Coffee
My husband is French and when we lived in France we drank Ricore, which is an instant chicory and coffee product. I bought it online for a little while but the vendor here on Amazon raised the price (doubled it, essentially) and that made me mad so I quit drinking it. I wanted something as fast and easy, so I switched over to some American instant coffee, which lacked the nice depth that chicory adds. So I tried this product, and was a little unsure at first about it being a thick liquid instead of a dried powder, but it mixes into my hot coffee very quickly and easily.I love it that it's organic. I love it that it's packed in a nice little glass jar.My one wish is that the price was a little lower. It indeed does not take much, a little goes a very long way, but it still seems like it's somewhat of an indulgent splurge. That given, I love it so much that unless they raise the price I fully intend to continue to purchase it. Two thumbs way up! Love this stuff!Edited November 1, 2019: I purchased only one jar of this product, for $9.99 and then they increased the price by $2.00. I have not purchased it since. I now buy Luzianne coffee with chicory and brew it in a little single-serve coffee maker I bought here on Amazon.

Good replacement for coffee.
This review is for Chickory Root Coffee Resin.Pros: Thick, concentrated resin that mixed easily in hot water; small amount ( 1/4 - 1/2 tsp) was sufficient for a smooth to strong black cup of coffee for me.Cons: Small amount for price. Resin came in a glass jar about the size of a 2oz spice jar and lasted about 1 month.I stopped coffee due to side effects and started on chickory granules. I use about 1/2 -1 tsp in hot water, which has to soak/steep about 5 min before it is strong enough to drink. Most of the granules fell to bottom of cup after becoming saturated but still had plenty soft pieces floating on top which had to be strained to get a smooth cup of coffee. Later discovered that I could grind granules in coffee bean grinder and get an instant coffee ( ready in about 1 minute )with only a few tiny pieces of granules which I liked much better. The 1 lb bag of granules are a better buy for me and lasts about 1 1/2-2 months.Doesn't taste exactly like coffee but close enough, especially with cream and sugar, to satisfy my coffee urge without the side effects of real coffee.

Great Flavor, no it doesn't taste like coffee
I had purchased some chicory tea bags at the local grocery store and thought they were okay but nothing too wow about them, more like meh its okay. Then i bought this paste at the recommendation of a friend. The flavor just BLOOMS in every sip. Nothing like those weak little tea bags. I prepare a cup with the recommended 1/2 teaspoon serving and i find it to be perfect. More than that it it doesn't bloom quite as nicely and is more bitter to the taste. I prepare mine with a dash of milk or cream and some agave. The only deterrent to making a subsequent purchase is its a very small container and we drink several cups a day so the jar lasts less than two weeks..As far as a coffee substitute, i don't think this would fall into that category taste wise. Most people who are avid coffee drinkers are very particular about what coffee tastes like and this isn't it. As far as a warm cup of something you could drink every morning and enjoy the flavor, yes it absolutely can and does do that for you.I would definitely recommend this to mix with your coffee, to drink instead of coffee, etc. I don't have an issue with my coffee consumption so i couldn't tell you if this is helpful in cutting back or getting rid of coffee completely. I imagine you could you would just need to get used to the flavor and not expect it to be exactly the same as coffee.

Tastes Bitter and Peppery
Tastes Bitter and Peppery, like black pepper, I thought it was supposed to smooth out coffee like Cafe Du Monde. The powder chicory I usually get tastes better. I suppose a lot a people like bitter peppery taste, I guess the same people who like IPA beer,
