Good buy with 2280 and magsafe support.
After searching through various sites including amazon, settled on this because this checked all boxes. Though this is plastic, the construction seems good. It feels heavier than it looks in a good way, but not too heavy that i becomes a chore to carry. The magsafe works well to attach itself to the device. The installation was easy, though little unorthodox. The plate closes against the ssd and latch clicks in place. it may look flimsy but holds without issues. As I am not planning to swap ssds frequently, not a problem for me. but if you are planning to do that a lot, looks elsewhere. I used 2280 ssd and it fit without issues in the relatively small space inside. It does get warm with use, but not too hot to touch. I am not putting it under heavy load. if you are, something to keep in mind that this is a plastic container with no ventilation. Fine for light use but heavy use may not be sustainable. I can't vouch for heat dissipation. I tested the speed before committing on the mac. the tests at least reach the max of 10gbps without issues. It is a reasonable speed for regular use. any lower speed would not be usable. Overall, it is decent value for money. It got me what I wanted. Could it be better? yes. I would have liked at least the top of bottom made of some metal for heat dissipation. Perhaps a metal or stronger latch would have been better for swapping out ssds. Even with all these issue, this is a good purchase for now. Using it for a few months now without issues. I will update if it ends up failing with in a few years.

Poor quality - doesn't reliably connect to phone
While in concept, this device seems nice, the execution is botched resulting in a poor experience. I could not get this to stay connected to two phones and two laptops I tried. It would connect then disconnect automatically. So excited to buy this only to feel like I wasted my time. I guess the only real positive is that it looks nice. However, it feels cheap. The plastic cover can be a bit difficult to get off. All around, would not recommend to anyone.

DOES NOT SUPPOR SAMSUNG 860EVO m.2 2TB
I actually have 2 of them, the 1st one I brought a blue one back to Dec 2024, it works great with my samsung 860EVO SATA m.2 SSD; so I brought another one in black one this year to use with my other 860EVOs. But the new black one didnot work with my 860EVO at all! i switched to a kinston nvme ssd, it works with power pluged in on my iphone 16pro. my old blue one works with 860evo without power plug. not sure it's a defective unit or they changed the main chipset and the new one does not support SATA m.2 SSD anymore.

A solid ssd enclosure with all the things I needed
I loved this product but the reason I didn’t keep it was because it’s all plastic and the color wasn’t to my liking. An excellent hub overall that you can turn into a backup memory station for your iPhone. It this were made of a metal, I would have kept it. Speeds were about average but a great item nonetheless.

Heat removal could be better
Works Great! The thin metal liner inside the plastic cover/cap , I believe ,is to dissipate the heat. I think it's too thin. It does get warm to touch the adapter so I placed heat conductor tape that came with my ssd drive inside the cover to assist in removing heat No issues so far

Not the most reliable enclosure I’ve used.
I’m using this with a Lexar 2280 4tb pcie gen 4 ssd and an iPhone 15 pro max and a MacBook Pro M1 Pro. Setup went fine. Instructions don’t explain where or how to use the included thermal pad. It does clarify that the 2280 size ssd does not need to use the screw which is fine and all except the only thing holding the drive in place is a small plastic tab. It also just snaps closed so the build quality doesn’t instill a whole lot of confidence. Also the enclosure doesn’t appear to have a capacity o assist in data being stored properly before it looses power like some enclosures offer. I was able to transfer all 3.25TB in about 20-30 minutes which was awesome and so the speed is definitely up there and didn’t slow down at all. I’m using it with APFS encrypted and that seems to be fine so far. When using it with my iPhone 15 pro max, the drive would sometimes stop talking and glitch out the files app with a message of an unknown error occurred and a try again button that does nothing until you unplug and replug the drive into your iPhone. I also tried charging my iPhone using a PD charger and it said it was charging but seemed to be way slower than plugging my iPhone into the same charger directly. I swapped the usb c cable for another cable I already had and that helped the reliability of the drive on my iPhone quite a bit so maybe my cable was defective. The only other issue I have is that the color is so incredibly ugly. A simple neutral color like gray or black would have been much better in my opinion. Overall it’s nice and the first product like it to market but it has a lot of room to improve and I hope to see a future product that addresses these issues.

Must buy if u have portable gaming device
This is a must-buy if you have portable gaming devices like a Steam Deck / Legion Go or ROG Ally X. It is also ideal for extending your gaming portal device storage capacity or running other OS without a dual booting. I have 4TB internal on my Legion Go with Windows, and I am using this to run a SteamOS with 4TB external, plus I can charge your devices at the same time without losing a USB-C slot. The description says this device supports a maximum of 2 TB, but I put 4TB in it, and it works perfectly. There are no issues.

Does not work/Faulty product
Received two seperate ones, both didnt work. Wouldnt show up on ipad and when connected to pc would show in disk manager as a western digital 256gb drive when I had a 128 ssd in it that wasnt even WD brand. Would say drive needed initialized when it didnt and would give an error message. SSD works fine in different enclosure. Do not buy.
