6" Acryl-Hinge™ Acrylic 6 inch Hinge 5 Pack

(I got 5 pcs of 6" hinges) These are perfect for hinging two pieces of mesh aquarium cover (aluminum frame). Aquarium measures 24" wide X 48" long, each cover piece is 12" X 48" and I hinged them in the middle. I used 4 of the hinges, which work great. THe cover is so lightweight, I could've gotten by with 3. The hinges open and close very, very smoothly, and I don't have to worry about them getting wet and rusting or discoloring or leaching into the aquarium water. The hinge folds all the way back onto itself, allowing me to open the cover from either side, and lay it completely flat on top of the other half of the cover. Makes feeding, maintenance and cleaning very easy. They were easy to glue onto the lightweight aluminum frame with hot glue or silicone glue. Silicone will give a more permanent application, a couple small dots of hot glue on each hinge flap allowed me to experiment with placement and check function and still be able to remove and reposition the hinge if I needed to. I highly recommend these versatile, easy-to-work-with, waterproof hinges!One note: If I had it to do over, I'd have gotten the black acrylic hinges, they would've blended better with the dark colored frame of the aquarium cover. These "clear" ones aren't really clear and don't blend well at all with dark colors. Still, they work great for the purpose, and the color is just a matter aesthetics and personal preference.

Worked great on my glass aquarium lid. More sturdy & a lot nicer looking than the black plastic it came with.

I have an aquarium lid that is a very rare size. Search though I did I could not find a replacement that was the correct depth and length, without resorting to an expensive custom fix. The issue was that the hinge broke. Well, five of these and a little silicon adhesive did the trick. The lid may not look new, but it works flawlessly.

I bought these to use for my DIY polycarbonate aquarium lids and they are absolutely perfect. They are very sturdy and completely silent when opening and closing.

I 'glued' these to two pieces of glass with silicone to make a hinged aquarium lid. I wouldn't stress the 'glue' too much, but they have been doing great so far, they move nice and freely.

They didn't stay bonded to the epoxy I used but so far they haven't cracked or become brittle yet.. good value for the money
