I’m 5’8” female 145lb and the small 50L is the most amount of weight I want on my back. It’s perfect size for a carry on. When traveling with littles, I can pack them in the duffel and roll mine with having a hand free for the parking lot. We own a XL and have had for 10+ years. I’m sure when my kids are old enough, these will become theirs. Great investment on a durable timeless duffel.

Watch out this bag is awesome it will have u buying every size of u travel of pack gear in the backcountry this is the bags for you I have used mine in all conditions with flawless capability keeps stuff dry and that’s a big thing with bags no mildew in rainy conditions for days in end

Note: technically, this is too big to meet international carry-on standards (you need to decide if you want to take that risk). My husband did use it for international travel (both carry-on and checked) and loved it. He fit everything that he needed for a 3-week trip (yes, he also brought a day pack and there was laundry day/time needed). He found the straps to be comfortable. He has this same bag in multiple sizes - loves them all.

This thing is awesome! I got the small which is perfect for a trip that lasts a couple days or is the right size for a carry on bag. I’m not sure the bottom of the bag is waterproof (as in I wouldn’t want to set it in a puddle) but I’m confident if the bag was rained on everything inside would stay dry.

I work for a crane company and I use this pack for overnights . Very durable bag, I love north face!

This bag is awesome. Fits a rope, shoes and harness easily.
