Outstanding information on weight loss and cycling to make you a better, more fit rider!
I kept getting offers to buy this from another site, and I thought I would try it as I both ride bikes and wanted to loose weight. I consider myself an intermediate rider, as i have taken part in MS150's and other large organized rides in the past - but have never been a racer. This book start with an overview and some examples of what people have done. When you get to the 'How to' part, its broken down into a program divided into weeks, which exercises such as clipping and unclipping from pedals (Which you don't have to use). Yeager recommends some core strengthening exercises in addition to cycling (you can certainly do other exercises. It progresses to riding greater distances/times, interval training, and talks about diet. No, their is no hard plan of what you are supposed to eat - those are readily available online should you need that. I tried this - as did my wife (We are doing this ongoing) and so far I have lost a bit over 20 pounds and she about half that. In a two month period. This is very fast weight loss - yours might be faster, or slower. But if you follow the program you will be a better rider as well. I have used clipless pedals for years - but have generally favored one side. So, the exercise of clipping and unclipping helped me. Some of what is contained in this book is completely new to me but following the guidelines it is making me a better rider. If your need to lose weight OR if you want to learn to be a better bicycle rider - buy this book. Try it. You will not be dissappointed.

Good Program
I'm lazy, I have done the riding side of the program, the diet not so much, the stretching not enough, the push up and dips, not at all. In four weeks I've lost a pant size and between 5 and 10 pounds. I feel better. The hyperlinks in the kindle for the charts to record your efforts go to dead ends. You can make your own chart easily enough. It is a good program you feel yourself getting stronger and more capable on the bike. I have set a goal of riding from Kingston NY to NYC on (mostly) the almost complete Empire State Trail. This will be achievable in two 60 mile sections. This program will help me achieve that goal.

Bike Your Butt Off!: A Breakthrough Plan; I like this book because it has a lot of useful information getting ready to ride and even the beginning stages of riding and it provides important guidelines for health issues, nutrition and exercise and making the bike ride a fun experience. . I also think the seasoned rider can pick up important pointers and tips they may not have been aware of and along with all that there are tables, graphs and how to do it ride information, including some very good bike links. I would think that most anyone interested in health, exercise along with the joy of bike riding would benefit from this book.

"A Breakthrough Plan to Lose Weight & Start Cycling, ... for sure!!!"
I'd recommend the book, 'Bike Your Butt Off!' to anyone who's is looking for a detailed, well-organized plan to follow if you are looking/seeking to pedal off the pounds and get fit in as little as twelve weeks. Even if weight loss isn't your primary goal, but you want/wish to be better rider and gain exercise skills, healthy eating habits, and overall inspiration, this book is a must read as well as a great reference to refer to time and time again. One last note, you'll find the better deal for purchasing this book here on Amazon since there are numerous purchasing options from a number of sellers, I'd highly advise not to get roped in or suckered into paying a much higher price for this book if you're thinking about purchasing from Rodale/Bicycling magazine, ... and that's all I got to say about that!

Read it, then go out and ride it...
Very well written book that will take you through all of the steps from bicycle purchase to increasing your fitness level in less than 7 hours of reading. I love the Kindle version in that I can reference the book from my smartphone while out training. The author explains every item from a basic perspective that will keep you engaged and informed. Best training guide I have found for someone who is wanting to get the most out of riding in the shortest amount of time, as a beginner.

Well structured and easy reading
I did get a lot of valuable info / tips on my cycle training. Found the different sections on cycling, nutrition, core workouts and stretches very informative and useful. I used to neglect supportive exercises / training and are now motivated to get going with it.

Excellent Exercise Plan
Yeager is a good writer, so it is easy to understand her philosophy about what it takes to live a healthy life. Her experience gives her the background so that a reader is comfortable with the advice that she presents. She is not presenting ideas and methods only. It is necessary to follow the plan in order to reap the benefits of her presentation, but it is not difficult to do if a reader really wants to move toward having a healthy body. It is a very worthwhile read. I like the results I am beginning to have.

I got some good tips in the nutritional section of the book
I got some good tips in the nutritional section of the book. The cycling part was a bit rudimentary and too heavily focused on serious road cycling. I think more information on recreational riding would have been helpful. Not everything in life has to have a social club aspect either. I enjoy solo rides as a great way to relieve stress.
