The more you soak, the less briney.
I'll start off by saying that I love seaweed and all things with that Briney flavor. I soaked these in a bowl of room temperature water and they puffed up nicely! I noticed that they didn't all rehydrate, so I dumped out the water and refilled the bowl. What I noticed is, the less salty the water, the more they rehydrate (so a firmer product)and they take on the flavor of what you soak them in. I topped them off with some tamari, and noticed that they started to shrink a little bit more than they did when they were in plain unsalted water. So I ate them quickly. Overall, a really fun, tasty experience, and I will be buying these regularly.

Now we know
Both of my teenaged daughters told me that these taste like blood and spit them out. They are used to eating a variety of food from different cultures and have well developed palates for their respective ages. They were impressed by the texture but appalled by the taste. 2/10. Do not recommend.

Acquired interesting taste
This was a very interesting and novel experience. I do love seaweed salad and fishy things, so I was interested in trying this out. I ate them on their own the first time and it was very interesting, I can't really describe it in words. It did have an unpleasant sea aftertaste, not the fishy kind like seaweed, but more like you drank seawater. I think it might be better hidden in salad or with a sauce.
