lost the flashlight.
I lost the flashlight the first day from cutting some sticks with the serrated edge.modifications I made: 1) filed the tip of blade (back side) so it will service phillips screws better 2) added rubber cement to flashlight so it won't fall out 3) removed belt clip to make it slip into pocket easier 4) drilled hole for paracord lanyard 5) added locktight to all screws on knifeNote: same knife is at WalMart for $15.

Best knife humanly possible for EDC.
It's spring assisted, tge blade requires some force to open so it won't open in your pocket. The light is bright... Shockingly so for what it is, just don't over tighten it, it will break.Better than a Swiss army knife in every way.I'm getting more.......Tips.The light comes out of the knife and is held in place with a magnet this is awesome because you can stick it on the hood of your car when you need your hands-freeI recommend rapping plumbers tape around the threading on the flashlight (you just screw tighten it closed to turn it on). As there is a little bit of wobble in the threading the plumbers tape removes that.I also recommend wrapping some electrical tape around the entire flashlight itself. So that way there is no wobble in the light. If you aren't going to put this in a backpack for camping. (Which it is awesome for mind you). And plan on carrying it around with you everyday like I do. You can rap about 4 feet of Scotch tape around the fire starter.I figured using tape it probably be more frequent than starting random fires with a flint and steel............By this knife you won't regret it.This is coming from an eagle scout (Super Boy Scout)

Not bad for the price
As someone who has several EDC knives this one isn't the worst one that I've owned, nor is it the best. The flashlight was convenient, but it falls out easily. I wrapped some electrical tape around the base to give it a tighter fit which worked for a short while but ultimately, I still lost it within a couple weeks. Knife blade is good, and the assisted open is great. I could do without the bottle opener on the knife blade though. To me it looks like it could be a weak point in the blade and my guess is if it breaks, it will snap there. It would be nice if the bottle opener could be combined with the belt cutter, although I could do without one all together and probably never miss it.Speaking of the belt cutter, I'm not a fan. The blade comes out too far (see last picture) and can easily cut things you don't want to cut...like your pants pocket if it gets caught. The belt blade should be set back more, or the opening should be smaller - or get rid of it and put the bottle opener (or anything else) there. The Fire starter works, as does the sharpening stone, but both wear out quick. I would have preferred either the fire starter or sharpener...or get rid of the flashlight that is going to be lost anyway and put a fire starter on one side and a sharpener on the other. I guess I’m just full of ideas today. All in all, not bad for the money, but just know that most of the “fluff” items will most likely be lost or worn out rather quickly. I’ve had this for a couple months and I’m down to basically a knife, belt cutter and window breaker (never used this so no idea how well this works). For the money you could probably get a better-quality combination of these items in a knife. Just my two cents.

Not bad at all - got it for emergency pack
Was leery after reading the one-star reviews. The flashlight was the biggest reviewers complaint. It is super tiny. Put bright colored nail polish on so hopefully will find again should it fall out. Also, put some of that sticky stuff used to stick things to paper. Mine holds the flashlight better but maybe more coats of nail polish would be better to hold flashlight? The light worked fine after removing the minuscule shield to separate from batteries. Placed the shield back - to protect batteries to be ready in an emergency. Have a backup flashlight. For the price, my opinion - this is a very good buy. Can't imagine the screws falling out but one reviewer's suggestion of locktight to secure screws I suppose is a good idea. And the idea of drilling a hole for lanyard is another great idea. But, I'm probably not going to do either. Picked the red color because easy to spot when you put it down.Four stars because of the flashlight thing and it did not come with any paperwork (care instructions). Didn't try the striker because read it will quickly wear out. Watched some YouTube videos on strikers. Some reviewers complained knife was very cheap, mine is sturdy for what I spent. Perhaps others received a shoddy counterfeit imitation? Not an expert knife judge here - but what I got met my expectations just fine. Ordered more for the rest of my family's emergency packs in different colors. If any problems, will update.

It's pretty cool
But, it would be nice if it came with instructions, it took us a while to find out where everything was and how to make it do what it does. The light, for example. You have to take it out of the frame, then open it and take out the tiny white disk separating the light spring from the battery. Then, the light easily turns on and off by twisting the end. Really tight is on, then just loosen it a little, and it goes off. The flashlight is magnetic where it seats in, and it's not a very strong magnet, so it comes out easily. I read one of the other buyers put a little rubber cement in there. We're still waiting for our rubber cement to arrive, so we'll just have to be careful for a day, or two.

Updated: excellent knife
My original review was very hard on this knife due to the difficulty of getting the batteries into the flashlight portion. Though this is still an issue, I have since found that the knife is not only extremely sharp, but has maintained its sharpness after months of rough use. I am impressed. I have now taken this camping 3 times and the paint hasn't even started to show any signs of wear unless you're really looking. Superb quality. Just wish they used different batteries that were larger than a grain of rice.
