Three awesome movie mysteries
Murder She Baked has Allison Sweeney playing Hannah Swenson, a cookie store owner that is an amateur sleuth when needed. Playing the homicide detective is Cameron Mathison (Mike) also one of Hannahs' love interests who is constantly trying to keep her safe in the investigations. This collection has three movies included: Plum Pudding, Peach Cobbler and Deadly Recipe.Plum Pudding is a murder mystery set at Christmas. Hannah goes to drop off a plum pudding to the local Christmas tree lot owner and finds him dead. Hannah starts sleuthing around and interviews the wife, ex-wife and other suspects before the solution finally comes to her at a Christmas auction.Peach Cobbler has a rival baker setting up shop across the street from Hannah. She also has a history with Mike, making it seem that she is a rival in more ways than one. One evening, Hannah goes to check on her and discovers her body. As Hannah was the baker's main competition, she shows up as the primary suspect. Mike is forced not only to investigate her but also to stay away from her. In order to clear her name, Hannah tries to find who else would have had a motive to kill the baker. Her sister, who is her twin, or someone that may have held a grudge against the baker? Hannah and Mike eventually find the solution. This was a bit of a twist ending, I did not see it coming.A Deadly Recipe begins with Hannah's brother in law trying to run against the sheriff in the next election. Shortly after, the sheriff is found murdered and Hannah's brother in law is the chief suspect. Despite Mike's pleas for Hannah to stay out of this, her sister urges her to investigate and clear her husband. As the sheriff was unpleasant, he made plenty of enemies providing a full cast of suspects.

The perfect cozy collection for the whole family!
We have been reading Joanne Fluke's Hannah Swensen series since book one. More than 10 years, but we hesitated on the movies until we found the first film for free on YouTube. Aside from the fact that it is quite specific in the book that Hannah and Mike are both redheads, that Moishe the cat is a tabby, and that Delores is a brunette, most of those details don't matter once you see what a great job they did with this series. Alison is delightful and has the right spirit as Hannah, jumping in to solve the crime, Mike is handsome, charming and combative with her so they have bepanter and chemistry. Norman is so sweet, and grows on you just like in the books, Delores is great, Bill is good and Andrea is particularly perfect. This series is true to the books' storyline, visually beautiful, fun as a mystery where you might be able to guess but still keeps you guessing, and it's one of the ONLY mystery series that the whole family can watch together. My mom is very picky and she loved it so hip hip hooray! Butterfly Gal

Great Hallmark Mystery Movie
I am enjoying the movies. I like mystery movies. Hallmark has done a great job with their mystery movies.

One of the better Hallmark mysteries
I like this series quite a bit. Murder, She Baked and the Aurora Teagarden mysteries along with the Garage Sale ones are the best of the Hallmark mystery series. The rest are often overwrought or not really mysteries but these three are entertaining with often well done puzzles. Murder, She Baked has a great main character, Hannah (Alison Sweeney) who is intelligent and even funny. The actress is pretty good. She and the main character Aurora Teagarden are believable as possessed and intelligent crime solvers. Also the love triangle isn't super sweet though Mike (Cameron Mathison) doesn't really appeal to me. I like Norman (Gabriel Rhodes) because (1) he doesn't look skeletal and (2) he's multi-dimensional. But Hannah unfortunately prefers Mike, the haunted and single-dimensional homicide detective. Grrrr.Okay, the reason to buy this is because it is entertaining and cheap cheap cheap. Buy it for yourself as a guilty pleasure or for someone you know who loves programs like Murder, She Wrote or Matlock or Diagnosis Murder. All of these have the potential to be viewed repeatedly. So that's why you buy this dvd collection.

Terrific show in plural.
Great actors. The shows were fun to follow and not a lot of blood. Happy day!

Great set of movies...but does NOT start with the first movie!
This is a great set of movies. But pay attention: This is movies 2, 3, and 4. It does NOT include movie 1 or movie 5! I didn't realize this at first, and took movie 1 (Chocolate Chip Murder Mystery) off of my wishlist, thinking that it would be included. Odd that they would choose to forgo the first movie in a set like this, but the three that are on this are very good.

"Donut" Miss Out On These Movies!
I fell upon these movies by accident a year ago, and I had never read the series. From what I understand, these do not exactly replicate the author's books, but they are delightful mystery movies without anything offensive or frightening. As a baker myself, I especially love watching a show based on that premise, and all the actors are superb. However, I am not a big fan of Mike the Detective.as I think Cameron Mathison, has a tendency to over-act, which adds to my rooting for Norman. That being said, this is a great DVD set which can be watched over again. I would also suggest buying the first movie~ A Chocolate Chip Mystery as it is the basis for the rest of this collection. e

Cute and Clean
A cute movie mini-series that is great for girl's night! Family-appropriate without the usual junk that's in lots of the movies nowadays...Classic Hallmark cute/cheesy acting and scenarios. But a good watch nonetheless. The plots get better throughout the five movies. I would definitely recommend this if you liked reading Nancy Drew as a kid.

You won't loose your cookies : )
Part of the Hallmark Mysteries offering a nice break from my Nordic Noir stories, nothing too warped, likeable cast, especially Alison Sweeney and Cameron Mathison. Shot in nice locations results in a good evening entertainment. Some of the stories are a bit better than the others but it's like going back to see some good friends. These you can also be watched with your children while eating cookies.Sadly, I think that the series has come to an end after only 5 movies, the set should have probably included all 5.Still a few pleasant hours for those cold or rainy evenings.Enjoy!
