The long and short––this is made of metal, and the slider is recessed in the frame, so it doesn't get caught on stuff over time and become too loose, like the plastic versions, or any of the kind that isn't recessed like this.--I bought a different brand a month ago, and although that one worked fine on my computer, I noticed that after moving it back and forth only a handful of times while it was attached to my phone, it began opening and closing with gravity. So when I turned my phone to the wrong side, the camera shutter would open––mainly because those ones are made from very flimsy plastic. Then I bought two of these metal shutters. With shipping, the price felt astronomical in comparison to the plastic alternative...but after receiving these and installing one on my phone I can already tell that I'm NOT going to be having the same problem. It shuts tight and takes a good amount (not too much) of pressure to close/open it. Although I wasn't sure when I was purchasing, I know now that when it comes to buying one of these for your phone (that is constantly going to be opened and closed, sliding in and out of your pocket etc), this is the only one to buy. Also, I think the plastic one got caught on my pocket and the cover thing came off. This one doesn't get caught like that cause it's actually MUCH smaller than the plastic ones, and the shutter is recessed inside, as you can see, so it doesn't get caught and come loose like the cheap versions. WISHED a review like this would have been written prior to purchase so I would know I was getting what I thought I might be, so hope this helps someone who is concerned about this exact tiny little issue that can be quite annoying to solve without the insight of a current owner. I purchased these to cover the web cam on my Echo Spot. While these aren't curved like a lot of the web cam covers are that are designed for the Spot, they are so tiny (about the size of my little finger's nail) that they don't need to be curved. Also, I was concerned about the reviews on those product which indicated that the cover would just fall out. That can't happen with this design. So far so good. I don't plan to open and close it frequently; I wanted a cover that could open and looked better than a piece of a Post-It Note.

I’ve tried quite a few lens covers for my iPhone and this is the thinnest, most durable, and best design I’ve found so far. It doesn’t slide open (or shut) accidentally. The adhesive is very strong but it didn’t stand up to being slid in and out of my front jeans pocket all day. To be fair, none of the others covers stayed attached either. I Gorilla Glued it to the glass and it’s not going anywhere. Great product - I liked it so much I bought one for my MacBook Pro.

This product was way smaller than I thought it would be (even after reading some of the other comments). However, it workers well! I have a Macbook Air and it fits the camera perfectly. It also blends in with the color of my laptop, so it is really discrete. I cannot comment on the adhesive quality yet, as I've only had it on for a few days, but it seems fine so far.April 2020 Update: Adhesive quality is great! Has yet to fall off at all. 100% recommend

Th sliding camera covers fit nice it came with a most pad to clean application surface the black is easier to open & close than the silver,but on the other hand the silver ones are easier to identity and open for camera use..both do the job well...

Perfect for my laptop. However, if you have an iPad with a screen protector - this will not fit. I haven't really found anything that yet.

It didn’t adhere the best but didn’t mess with the camera quality and is a little hard to move the camera cover the first time you do it
