19 inch window height minimum for the large unit. Install with a downward tilt to the exterior.
Measure your window opening height. Do not rely on the product dimensions in the listing. The product box says the window opening must be a minimum of 19 inches for the 2-ton LW2422IVSM! My 32x32 garage window did not open large enough so I permanently removed both sashes to install the unit. I built a new internal window frame from 2x4 pieces. Because the unit weighs over 100 pounds, I first purchased and installed the Ivation Support Bracket https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CZH178M which was pretty simple. Some small support brackets are included with the air conditioner but a sturdy external bracket gave me piece of mind and reduced the possibility that I would drop the whole air conditioner out the window during installation. The guts of the air conditioner slide out of its cabinet and the empty outer shell is next installed in the window. Then the air conditioner guts are slid into the installed cabinet. This is a good method so that the lightweight cabinet can be adjusted and secured. The unit should tilt down slightly outside -- about 2 degrees or 0.5 inch slope -- so the condensate will drain properly. I removed the side curtain guide at the top of the cabinet and did not install the included side curtains. I chose to cut 0.25 inch clear polycarbonate sheet to fill the rest of the window opening. 0.125 inch polycarbonate sheet would probably have been adequate. Initial startup had about ten seconds of troublesome fan noise which disappeared on its own. Now the unit is very quiet and blows super cold air. Super cold! The controls on the unit and on the remote are simple enough. The installation instructions were understandable.

Whisper quiet with quick cooling
I seldom write 5-star reviews, but this is honestly one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. I’m so glad I decided to buy this AC - it works like a central air system: whisper-quiet yet incredibly powerful. Gone are the nights when my entire wall would rattle from the old unit, or when I could hear the compressor roaring from the next room. This deserves a FULL five stars! The app is the cherry on top.

Invest in this.
Purchased before summer 2023. In my opinion, this has the most pleasing look, especially the front of unit. Very quiet and cool my 650 sq ft fast. Highly energy efficient vs similar btu. The painted to the filler foam board given with the same paint I used for walls for cohesive lock. Wifi and app enable. No regret so far. I also have a small unit (10000 btu) for my bedroom. Also works great. And their remotes can be used interchangeably.Their eco mode is a little warmer than its ser temp, meaning it waits a little longer to cool the room. The back of unit makes gong sound if there it is raining or got ac draining dropped from upstairs, but every ac has this issue. You might need cushion foam to put of top of back unit to absorb the sound, especially for the bedroom one.

Dents and abuse on delivery, loud ringing sound coming from compressor horrible warranty.
The media could not be loaded. Damaged. This item weighs 95lbs. I was not about to return it because of this. I never explored scheduling a pick up because I figure it might still work. I install the unit. About a month or two later, it started to give off this loud ringing noise. Horrible to the ears and wake me up at night. And most likely this is the reason why. On the front of the unit and there are dents that are leaning on the coils. At least that’s what the LG warranty people said when I sent them a photo. See the photos. Fortunately, I’m covered under LG warranty. I have no idea how this could have happened because the unit was wrapped very well. This had to happen on the manufacturing line and instead of replacing it they figured the customer would use the warranty. This is just horrible. I would hate the thing that the seller did not handle this item with Care.Update: LG sent a tech out from Total Appliance Solution. He pretended that he didn’t not hear this loud ringing sound coming from my AC. Guys this is not normal! I never had an AC that rings like this. He told his “director” that nothing was wrong with it. Don’t trust this tech of LG sends them to you from Brooklyn!Update: I filled another complaint and this time Total Appliance Solution told me over text that they are not coming out to service the AC even tho I sent them videos. LG managers are now escalating this to some other team. I already told them that total appliance solution refused to do anything even the first time I called them. So I will update you to see where this goes. I’m still writing this on one because the warranty is garbage. LG has no control over their third-party techs!Update: LG warranty techs that service Brooklyn in this area are very bad. Hello. The LG tech Wardell came to look at the unit but he didn't want to be bothered with it. He said he can’t do anything because the AC wasn't making noise to him while he was there. That's in spite of the fact that I sent some videos before his visit with the sound playing very loud and clear. The AC made the sound a few while he was here, but he claims he didn't hear it. I sent him videos of the noise that I'm hearing and again he said he can't do anything if it doesn't do it live with him. His suggestion was to turn on the AC all night even though it's going to be 50° and pretty much freeze so that he can come later. This would be the last appliance that I buy from LG because the warranty is a really bad one. I have received no help for this unit and it seems like Wardell is just as bad as Total Appliance Solution. He claim “he will do his best to help me”, but I don't think that was true at all. He never opened it. He never looked inside. He did none of that.

Solid AC with Strong Performance, but Too Bulky for 8,000 BTU
I purchased the 8,000 BTU version of this air conditioner and was surprised to find that its exterior casing is exactly the same size as the 14,000 BTU model I recently helped my friend install. It seems like the manufacturer is using the same large housing for both units, which feels excessive and bulky for the smaller capacity. That was a bit disappointing. That said, the performance is excellent. It cools well, runs relatively quietly, and I especially like the built-in dehumidifier feature. Connecting it to Wi-Fi was quick and simple, even though the instructions don’t explain how to do it — luckily, I had no issues figuring it out.Be aware: it’s heavy — nearly 97 lbs — so take that into consideration if you’re lifting it yourself.
