PackardPMJ216 Motor Start Capacitor. 216-259 MFD UF / 110-125 VAC

Exact size/value for older Craftsman Table saw motor
The capacitor on my Craftsman table saw overheated and failed by cracking and leaking. The damage was bad enough that the value could not be read. Sears is useless as a parts source or for specs. I had a used motor start capacitor laying around and it worked but did not develop enough power or start fast enough. I am an electrical engineer and aware that larger capacitance increases power factor, so I intuited that the next size up (this product) would improve the operation. Restored it to perfect operation. Yes I can calculate it, but why? This cap works on Craftsman 3/4 HP motors.

Bench grinder works now
Capacitor is a little shorter that original but diameter the same and capacitance rating close to original. It went in the motor fine and brought my 50-year-old Craftsman bench grinder back to life.

Happy with this unit after initial issues
I waited to leave a review because this start capacitor didn't initially run as smoothly as I expected it to. However, after a break-in period of about 20 starts, five of which were rough starts that caused more vibration than expected causing me to shut the motor down. On the second start, in each case, start-up was normal. With one hundred plus starts since then, there have been no problems what so ever. Happy with this unit after initial issues.

Delivered as advertised
Good value compared to other vendors. Arrive promptly and was excellent fit / function as replacement part .Too early to know about durability, but my table saw is up and running in the meantime.

Fixed older Craftsman table saw motor
A perfect fit to get my 1980's vintage Craftsman table saw running again. The problem of the motor humming and not spinning was corrected with this part.

Drop-in Replacement for Electric Motor
Purchased this to replace a capacitor on a Sears belt sander electric motor from the 70s. Brought the motor back to life and it fit into the cover that the capacitor snaps into on the side of the motor. Would buy again if I ever needed it.
