Basetech ZD-99 Soldering Station Analogue 58 W +150 - +450 °C

Good value variable power/temperature iron for light electrical and electronic tasks.
Low cost equivalent of the classic Weller. Works fine but does not have genuine tip temperature control. Control is by mark-space variation of tip supply voltage. Hence tip cools during periods of extended soldering and for a given setting the tip is cooler in cold surroundings. By contrast the Weller senses and controls tip temperature. Noneless this is a useful well-made iron suitable for everyday use and represents good value.

Great station, great price but GET A LARGER TIP AT ONCE.
For the money this station is a winner. The power of the 48W is mostly enough even for bigger soldering joints. HOWEVER, and I can not stress this enough. The tip provided with it is a very fine tip and therefor has a very low thermal capacity. The tip provided is ok for small joints and smaller components but I highly recommend switching it out for a 2-2.5mm flat tip. If you must exceed 350C setting for your soldering than your tip is too small. So get a bigger flat tip and a flux pen or other additional flux and you'll be able to do almost all soldering jobs with this station.

Analogue Soldering Station ZD-99 48 W Personal opinion
For aesthetics this device is quite pretty and I would rate it with four stars. But that is where it stops for me. I find that at the highest temperature it can hardly bite into commercial solders. And in comparison to a temperature-controlled Weller, it falls far below the mark. My overall rating is two stars. (But this remains my opinion).
